Eagle Rock Loop Trail and Little Missouri River 2020

Eagle Rock Loop Trail is a combinations of 3 trails that total 26.8 miles. We started at the north end of the Athens-Bigfork Trail and hiked South or counter clockwise. After roughly 6 miles of fairly rough mountains, we met up with the Viles Branch Trail. This trail heads east for 3.5 mile of flat walking and intersects with the Little Missouri Trail. You then head north following the river for about 17.5 miles. This part of the trail will pass through the Winding Stairs, Albert Pike Recreation and Little Missouri Falls areas to meet back at the starting point. There are many water crossings so prepare to get wet. Eagle Rock Loop is located north of Langley and Athens and south of Bigfork Arkansas. It is an amazingly beautiful place. You will have some narrow forest roads to content with to get to most of the trail heads. Happy hiking. Remember, pack it in, pack it out. Leave no trace.
