SOLO flight! Curtis, my friend and student pilot, takes on his first solo flight in his very own Stinson 108-3! Aviation is an adventure! www.oneav8.com/merch
YES!!!! Don't know you guys (just been watching a few videos) but I'm a student pilot too (getting very close to solo) and absolutely loved seeing those awesome takeoffs and landings. Good work and thanks for the inspiration!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It was cool to document such a major accomplishment for a friend- make sure you at least get some pictures when you solo, and let us know how it went!
congrats! my first solo was also in my stinson 108-3 back in 1970. i still have that plane. and a stinson reliant. which just came out of a total restoration last year which i bought back in 1975 that first solo is scarrey. think i still have my cutup t shirt someplace. and lots and lots of log books. have fun curtis you will never stop flying now lol do not ever sell that 108/ maynot be as fast as the newer planes but does just as good a job. upgrade your radios as you can afford it my old 108-3 has a bigger engine and damn near a glass panel. now. i have flown her from calif when i lived there to florida to maine many many time over the years. best plane out there. not as fast as the new ones. but? will get ya there. want a/c? buy a icechest and put in the back seat. works great have fun
That’s cool that yall share the same story! I thought it was impressive that Curtis soloed in his Stinson, accomplishing both a student solo and tailwheel solo at the same time. It’s a sweet flying aircraft 👍👍
Congratulations Curtis!!! Those takeoffs and landings were perfect man, Hard work and dedication pays off!! So proud for you!! This is another AWESOME video Brian!!
When I was a young teenager in the middle 1950s I spent many evening hours with my boy scout leader in a Stinson. I still remember those flights, and I envy you and your time in a Voyager. Good luck and happy flying.
Shout out to my boy Curtis! He accomplished TWO big tasks in this flight!
Curtis is my cousin, I’m excited and proud of him!!! I can see a lot of hard work paying off in those moments. Way to go!
Cool! Thanks for checking out the video. He has put in the hours, and it’s exciting to see it pay off!
Congratulations Curtis !!! Great landings !!! 😅
I was really impressed with his landings, too!
Congrats, Curtis! Training in a tailwheel is even better!
I told him that his solo day was a real big step- accomplishing two milestones at once!
Always the funniest part about learning to fly is the solo flights!
It’s a big day! I think most pilots remember it forever!
Congratulations great job !
He did really good on his landings!
@@OneAV8 He sure did. Smooth !
Congratulations Curtis!!!!🎉

Congrats to Curtiss! Now to find him a little Avid or Kitfox!
I think it would be cool to have another Avid at VDI!!
Congratulations Curtis! 🎉 Y’all come join EAA Chapter 976 in Carrolton (KCTJ) for breakfast on a fourth Saturday one month!
He's itching to get out and stretch his Stinson's legs, so I'm sure we can arrange that!

The Stinson has went through an extensive annual and now has a few new cylinders. We can’t wait to get it back in the air!
You know what’s great about this?? NO camera’s in the airplane on a 1st solo!! Great job!!
Yep, no distractions!
