Wow! Thank you very much! Such comparisons as this one are definitely very welcome and it will be great to have more of this kind in the future! (Maybe other collectors can share their models for the purpose of such comparison-reviews?) As a person who had waited for BBR LaFerrari for years, from your review I've recalled why did not want the HotWheels version. It's door hinges are just not good, while the front trunk's hinges are just terrible, as if they were made by Bburago. Apart from that, it's a good model indeed, and separate parts of exhaust pipes where they are connected to the motor look even better than on BBR where they are represented by a big solid part instead of separate ones.
Absolutely no comparison I had both. The HWE was terrible in fit and finish especiallythe doors didnt fit right which drove me mad as they were off on the roof and panel gaps atrocious. Paint was poor and had some peal and black spots. Also looks like your BBR is the base version. I got the 'enhanced' one that comes on a base and display cover and it has gloss carbon in more places, noticeably the rear which makes a bit differance. But I do agree my HWE was like £120 vs £480 for BBR but my collection is focused on getting the best example of a model and for that you have to go BBR
I had the Bburago, Hot Wheels Elite and BBR and the BBR is FAR superior. Absolutely everything is done better including the preforated grills, stance, wheel detail/valve stem, exterior paint, black trim, interior detail, engine detail and the panel gaps. In my opinion it's not ~$150 more of a model. I would happily pay ~$300+ more for the perfection.
Yeah, not everyone can afford paying 300+ for a model. The Hot wheels Elite is a bargain for what you get in details, perforated grills, etc. That being said, I own a couple versions of the BBR- it's that good.
Personally, the BBR was well worth the money ($350 I payed personally) It is an excellent model to fully appreciate it a magnifying glass is needed! I’m more of a quality of quantity personally To each their own!
The BBR is the better more detailed model. I paid £350..in the UK. For both serious and novice collectors..the price difference still does not justify having the hot wheels elite version over the BBR!
One thing worth mentioning i that the sides are actually not identical ;) Mattel solved them a bit wrong, probably because the elements were really hard to recreate in die cast. That being said, back to back it's hard to spot the difference. I love the amount of detail on the BBR, especially in the engine bay. But on the other hand, it's no Exoto or CMC. It's actually Sum's models (Almost Real, Minichamps and some others) and not their best effort, but definitely their worst price 😅 The mould is puffy, there are areas for improvement. I agree with you here, if you simply want a decent model of a car you appreciate, the price difference does not translate to quality gap. Don't mind the people who would rather trade their arm and leg than get a second best, regardless of what they really pay extra for 😂
WHY does ALL review of the HWE says that the wing connot be retracted!? why? I was waiting for it. Not true. I could make this a song! It's frustrating ahah!
You are correct. I went and did get it to extend out. Initially, it was very difficult to move it from its original position, so difficult I thought that I was going to break it. I can see why so many people don't think it is retractable. Honestly, after extending the wing and seeing the detail below it, I would probably never extend it again!
@@diecastden In my case, it went pretty sturdily but easily. And really, this feature isn't about seeing what sits below -- at least not if you're not filled with BBR expectations. The feature realy is about having the functionnal aero, which is very rare on a model....
...and I feel like: if you want to see basic physical intution in someone else, put a model car in their hands, you can automatically see how accute they are :)
@@diecastden ... and I find the extended position on the HWE spoiler rather charming. (It's all a matter of being able to ''feel'' the model and applying forces accordingly -- not thinking of what you'll eat for dinner at the same time 😂

Absolutely agree
The elite was not bad at all but the BBR is far superior. I was about to point out that the Elite had a working wing but someone else already did.

Is hot wheels elite can match Kyosho (not the hi end version) or Autoart (not the signature series) or Minichamp, Norve??

It DOES restract!
