This is such a great performance. Evan’s internal metronome is so spot on, and he draws out each measure like taffy, almost hanging behind the beat like a blues player, and his use of dynamics draws in the listener. It takes real skill and experience to plant two feet on the ground and absolutely own the room like this. It feels like a sincere gift to the audience.
