Great idea & video. I haven’t yet made this mod to my skeeride, but I have used “drawer slide tape”- high density polyethylene or similar 1/2” wide adhesive tape on the underside of the steering rack to greatly reduce friction. You might find it useful for this suspension mod as well - it’s thin and very slick
@@chilly7261 Really???? I'm finding pla and pla+ just snaps at the attaching point when I get a little rough :) Have a new track printed out of colorfabb XT, will see how it goes this winter. Also doing up a 130% scale, plan is to use a 9cc gas, just starting so will be a month working out the engine install, ty for the reply
@randysalamon-y7j I would say printer settings are more important than filament type. Although Hatchbox PLA is the strongest I've found. Try only 3 perimeters and bump up the "infill overlap to perimeter %" setting to 50%. Default is usually only 15% overlap. In every failure I had, the infill broke away from the perimeter. Yes, infill percentage and type are part of the strength of a printed part. But the overlap % made the biggest difference. More perimeters than 3 just make for a longer print time...
Can you put some weight in the rear "swing", somewhere inside the rear belt? I mean if it will be as low as possible, you will have much lower center of gravity and also possibly more traction?
My driveway is basically like running on ice. Just need spikes in the track for that. It's set up for deep powder. Watch this video to see the difference. I run it in powder at the end... ruclips.net/video/s9D2SVp97cc/видео.htmlsi=_SPzRFykDQPzQ1wi
Wow that really works! Nicely executed! I am just finishing the last prints for my skeeride 2. Are you running 2200kv on 3s? Do you find this is enough low end torque and speed on stock gearing? I am thinking of going with the Hobbywing Quickrun 2in1 2300kv system to save some space in mine. It is limited to 3s...so just wondering if it will be enough speed to make me happy? Great design and hope to see it in the mods section someday!
Cool. Good idea. Looks like it did not have any torsion bar originally. Of course without a real people on it to be the roll control it will want to go over....✌️
Also check out my running video where I test this mod in deep powder...

Looking great. Very nice explanation of how it all works.
Thank you. Needs more testing. We have below zero weather and fine powder here. It will barely run on top going straight. More to come...
Where can i find these files for the leaning steering mod?

Yeah, good idea there. Although I have the dovetail sized really close. Since I lube it with Vaseline I've had no issues sticking...
Nice design, but would like to know how you got the 2 lower bolts in the servo mount with the steering servo installed?
Nice build sir are there carbides on the bottom of skis? Could help it turn better. But still awesome build.
Awesome design
Nice engineering work!... I am in the process of printing out all the pieces now, can you share the info on the servo you used for this mod please?
Very nice .Where can i get the files?
Great work!
I wish i was retired 👍cant wait to see more testing next week when it warms up
Like I said, should be illegal
Hi sam maybe look at the kyosho honda nsr 500 parts and rider figure the mechanism makes the rider lean into the turns might be usefull on the sled
curious on what you used for your tracks? seams to hold up fine even on the crusty ice

Where can I get a guy like that for mine ?
Good work!!
We widened snowmobiles in real life so why wouldn't we in RC life
Thank you. It makes sense...
Following this modd 👍 also what brand and color or orange did you use on that sled ?
👍 It's orange Hatchbox PLA
Awesome thanks 👍

Thank you. Yes, I'm running 3s Castle sensored system. It's plenty of power, I'm not using full trigger most of the time...
That 3s se system is kinda slow imo but it has plenty of power for my crawler!
@@Todd_G_FPV It water skips at less than half throttle. Not slow IMO

Will this work on the new polar version and where can i get the files
If the frame is the same it should fit. I need to do some more testing before I share the files...

Thanks. Yup, it's the only downside to this model
