- French street artist JR uses his camera to show the world its true face, by pasting photos of the human face across massive canvases. At TED2011, he makes his audacious TED Prize wish: to use art to turn the world inside out.

This video is great, JR is a big speaker he shows us that if you want to do something to help the world, you can do it with a simple idea. You don´t need a lot of money to do something really extraordinary, the world needs more of these people, who do something to show to others that everybody are same. that violence or problems that many countries have, can be solve.
You talk like a leader
I definitely believe in the power of art: creating thought, changing perceptions, being aware, bringing discussion, and making a difference. JR, I am doing something similarly with mental health/illness/anti-stigma awareness through art. Believe in making a difference.

So inspiring - I love what this man is about, what he does, and his wish.
I have listened to it for 24 minutes and all I can say - THAT IS GENIOUS!
the fact that his identity is still unconfirmed, is honestly amazing. this man is changing the world.
Now this is art. Unlike that crap modern art stuff that is just random lines and big black boxes painted on walls. Great and touching work this is.

Exactly what I needed to see at the right time. Ideas are the most powerful thing in the world, because ideas are the world. We are the collective imagination of the universe experiencing itself subjectively and you can change your surroundings in ways that are almost unimaginable. thank you for this inspiration boost.

i also paint public art for fun and a London council. its amazing how a bit of painting and a funny idea can bring people together elimaniting boundaries az it does. amazing.. well done JR!

VERY INSPIRING TED talk. But I have one huge question. How did he manage to print those pictures in such a huge format in one day in Africa, India... And so on? Printing that, in big city ( I'm from Warsaw in Poland, yes is big... ) its expensive and not that easy to do. I would love to know, how did he manage to do that.
I bet he arrived with them already printed. Just a guess though, no clue.
Krzysztof Jarzebski I'm not sure how he did it but he may have had pre printed strips of the photographs that he then put together to make the full image, I've seen some artists do that
If you watch the trailer to the documentary Faces Places, you will see he drove a big truck that had a hugh printer on it...he printed them himself right from the side of the truck! This man is amazing!

@MikeFromTheUK1 Eyes can express many feelings and are just amazing in general, making them great for artwork. Eye symbolism has been around before the illumiati anyway.

Told 30 friends across 6 countries about the project.. people who will do something about it .. some cool stuff coming your way on inside out project .. :)
Should do this with the local criminals. Put surveillance camera pictures of the local thieves, pickpockets and shop lifters on the prominent walls in the city centres and i bet everyone of them will stop or get caught.
I think he should call his portraits 'Citizens of the 21st Century" (yes, after August Sander)

@houseinpink These are black and white photos, concentrating on the form and the expressions. Making it more difficult to tell them apart and that is exactly the point!

I began watching with a feeling of pointlessness: graffiti is a criminal act, then now realize art is anarchistic so there are no laws that govern it.
