To go 'straight' the drill string needs to be rotating when extending, so that the 'average path' is straight. If you want to go in one direction (left/ right/ up/ down), you hold the plate in the orientation needed and the drill string moves that way.
Looks like the water coming back out would need a sump pump set up to pump it away from the pit or maybe back into a recycle tank. How much is one of these set-ups complete with the power unit in tow? ball park.
Can you control direction as your drill? It came up out of the ground, can it do side to side direction?
