That was a mega cool hearing his thought process. I'd love to see something like this that's geared more toward something like a spray wall or home woody.
"#Comfy starting position." That was one of my strong recommendation to every setter at my old gym. Now when I get back to that place again I can say "Niki, one of the top setters in the world says..." Thanks Niki and the Kilter Crew!
Such a nice video of the process you go through when making a great boulder 🤩 It is great content as this that makes me motivated to improve my own route setting skills. I would love to see more videos as this one! It could also be nice to hear your thoughs when selecting holds for a specific move or idea for a cool climb. Thanks for the great video! 😃
Very cool content! One question on setting the difficulty. Do you prioritize first the micro tweaking of hold positions /angle before you opt to change the hold to another one?
It really depends on the goals for the climb and what tweak will achieve what you want the fastest. It can be tempting to keep tweaking the same holds but sometimes just switching the hold out is a faster, better solution!
I’m wearing la sportiva speedster. Super soft shoe with 3.5mm rubber to get the feeling 😉 fun? Yes. Recommended? I don’t know. Depends on your experience and technique - they deteriorate quite fast for others while mine last usually a year until the leather breaks… Let me know if you need more info Cheers Niki

We’ve got more setting content in the works!

Nice boulders. But I don't like that you put two blue problems next to each other. Looks not good..
If it was a commercial facility we wouldn't leave it, but for our test lab purposes it was no big deal.
