LOVED the q&a portion too. You def have young ones watching and you sharing the deets is important. For anyone looking to move, I say look at the future place you want to rent, build your budget around that and make sure you have at least 3-6 months of ALL your expected bills saved. I am in my 3rd apartment on my own and I love living alone, and kinda feel like I have this a bit down now 😮💨

I work in property management, and smoking is the biggest issue all properties deal with. I am unsure how Maryland handles things, but DC is tenant-friendly, so it is hard to enforce policies if the court sides with the resident. Just be aware that smoking can happen at any property. Good luck with your apartment search.

This gave me the boost I needed to start looking for a new place. Prices here in NC aren’t nearly as high as other states. You can get a nice apartment for under $1.5k and even a luxury type place for less than $2k a month depending on the area. So I would think you’d need around $5k-$6k to start. Not even that much if you want to take your time purchasing furniture and accessories. But at least enough for a few months rent in case you run into any financial troubles.
Oh wow apartments are extremely high I guess my first apt was in Bowie more than 20yrs ago and I got tired of making them rich so I went straight into a new townhouse the money you pay for rent 2500 to 3,000 a mnth can be a brand new townhouse. with a mortgage that equals to that with more space .They are ripping people off out here. Those were beautiful luxury apt . But the Bowie , Crofton area are known for beautiful apartments /townhomes/houses.I wish you luck on your journey because I’m like you if I need a piece of mind and safety I’m going to pay whatever it cost for that.
I am retired since 2021, and looking to relocate to a different state. Worked in law enforcement 30 yrs, and my safety is #1 for me as a single woman. I own a home in Wisconsin, but looking to downsize to nice townhouse or condo. I like my privacy and quiet. Thank u for sharing some helpful information.

Hi Sunny! Just an FYI on the bigger glass windows. I would recommend only if the sun is not directly coming in your place in the morning/afternoon because your place will get warmer and remain hot for a while. Maybe now and the next few months it won't be a problem but over the summer it might. So just keep that in mind it will just take a lot more for the AC to keep your place cool if the windows are too exposed to the sun. If possible visit on a nice sunny day too.

I lived at the Palisades of Arundel Mills when I lived in Maryland and the place was so *chefs kiss* I’m back home in Chicago now. But the area is so nice and I was able to easily commute throughout the entire DMV being I was right by the expressway. Balcony was so nice and spacious. Was right by the mall. Gym was nice. Lobby always was nicely decorated for the holidays and they left nice treats for your birthday In the lobby too! I can rave on and on about how nice that place was. Even the surrounding townhomes and apartments in the area looked nice too. Good luck girly 🥳💕

Have you looked at apartments in Tysons? They have places that meet all of the items you want in a apartment.
I love the first one and you have a target less than 10 min in glen burnie it’s literally like two exits down. The Shirley 🚮 rooms everything is big and perfect lighting however, for what you are paying it’s not worth it when you come out stepping into dog shit, the amenities are always broke or equip missing, the entrance gate is always broken, the pet spa always disgusting. Non of those TVs work 😂girl I can go on just ask whatever you want to know.

Your favorite target will continue to be your best friend if you go with apartment building 1 or 2.

I just lived at the Shirley Very noisy on that lounge floor and they have parties all night in the lobby area and upstairs in the lounge because you can reserve it. An management is not very good since I moved there in 2022 they've had 3 managers.
