  • Filmed in 1986 - sorry about the quality but it's priceless to have it.
ANDY DARBY, STEVE HARPER, JOHN CRABTREE and GEORGE MANGRUM.
The best and sexiest line-up of the group we ever had. Filmed in Fire Island in Edinburgh. The shorts look amazing - proper old US Marine Corps gym shorts, not like the crap you see today. Shorts to make men look like men. I had never seen this footage of my song until recently and found it sensational. Seventh Avenue predated all the other boybands and acted as the precursor to Take That.

This takes me back. The fabulous club nights in Manchester. The late, great, Les Cokell, on the decks..

They truly were one of the first boy bands with some great dance hits. Of course Ian, it was your talent that made all the various versions of Seventh Avenue successful.

Ian, '86 was the year I went to the New Music Seminar in NYC. I attended your meeting, I can't remember what it was called. LOVED your handling of WHERE ARE YOU NOW

Their best song (IMO) was “Miami Heatwave” (1979) which was a huge hit in gay clubs in the USA and Europe. Definitely worth a listen.

Thanks Ian for your great work! By the way, is there any chance that you can re-upload Love’s Gone Mad in a higher definition?

Only male people in the audience?

I can detect one female in a striped dress. I'm amazed how docile the audience is. Most seem to be staring at the crutches and imagining the possibilities.
