The big problem of the reworked Jester is that you can now know of people who've been silent for a day that they certainly can't be Jester. That really dampens the role. The chatterbox requirement should include the possibility of 0 (so, 0-4 instead of 1-4). Furthermore, Jester should have a night 1 ability where he can choose to immediately surrender his vest in return for getting 1 day where he's allowed to stay silent without penalty (ability usable even if rbed/jailed/whatever).
I don't think that's a problem...? There are already a few ways to guarantee someone isn't jester. Who does guaranteeing not jester even detriment? The person not talking aka not playing the game?
@@kingacrisius Jester is about creating chaos by making it unsafe to kick people out of the game (YT apparantly doesn't like the proper term): if it's safe to kick out certain people, Jester loses a lot of his merit. The difference with other ways of guaranteeing someone's not a Jester is that those methods are through proper gameplay, requiring a role to pick the proper target and then for people to trust that the person is actually the role he claims to be. For example, an Investigator may say 15 has trespassed so you know that's not a Jester... but the Investigator had to actually pick 15 to investigate in the first place, and people must trust that the Investigator speaks the truth.
@_Vengeance_ OK? But just not talking is not an interesting or interactive way to play the game. They're literally winning by being afk. Confirming someone as not jester usually just makes them evil. It has practically no negative effect on actual jesters.
@@kingacrisius That's why I'm not opting for the complete removal of the mechanic, just a chance that on a day you might not need to write anything so a day of silence is not an automatic "not a Jester", with an additional option to get 1 guaranteed day of silence (but no more guarantees) though in return for a heavy drawback, so that a possible day of silence is not just pure luck either. Being able to stay completely silent is indeed a problem, but always having to talk is just as much of a problem. So many games I see people saying “give jester win” because the consequence for hanging a jester is borderline meaningless, where that should be the exact opposite of what you want to do
What if you get silenced as jester
then nothing happens when you are silenced your chatterbox mechanic does not matter
@@noahthesk i saw someone say it gets set to 0 if you get silenced
What happens if jest is silenced? Chatterbox kills them or do they stay alive?
What happens if the jester gets silenced? Do you just unalive?
people are saying chatterbox gets set to 0
Honestly, preferred the way jester was. This forces jester to play a certain way instead of being a wild card and that's no fun.
So how does the chatterbox mechanic work with being silenced? Are you just screwed?
Wait, what happens if u get silenced?
Funny how 3 voted when silenced.
Jester gaming
Huh, does voodoo's silence guarantee failure of chatterbox?
no it removed the requirement for the day, so it actually guarantees success.
Rip jester
Yeah, that's his plan.
What happens if the jester gets silenced?
I feel like jest needs an animation like the other NEs, just to spice it up a little, but other than that i do enjoy new jest, also im totally ganna bring back the whole jest clamis serv, just cause
Hang on, so what happens if a jester is actually silenced? He cant complete his chatterbox then
PipeTron sounds pretty depressed in the intro.
They should give chatterbox mechanic to socialite. It would be funny.
mechanically nonsensical, but thematically hilarious
Nah give that to all tps so they wouldn't just stay silent the whole game. Also, for funsies.
Day 132 of tallying skin usage in vids (whatever can I say to make youtube not remove my comments after a month??? They hate me for counting...)
