It would be interesting to know how many hours your motor has run in total. It cannot be much. Its an interesting topic on how long stuff could be exposed to tropic vs arctic environments. These things last seemingly longer at higher latitudes. All the best.
I really didn't know, that they last for only a few years. We have the same btw. We did change the motor this year. It's always nice to retrieve the anchor when you want it. 🤔. 🇮🇹 🇬🇷⛵⛵⚓⚓⚓
I am tempted to say if you had purchased a ‘proper’ marine windlass you would have paid more but it would have lasted for ever. But even I know that’s bollocks.😉😀😳⛵️
Probably Steve, the motors seem pretty poorly made even though they have a 5 year warrantee from new. The motors are about £150 so its just as easy to swap them out when they fail every 3 years. Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid
