    A good lesson for those kids to never wait until the last minute to do something. The coach should’ve known better.

    Sounded like they had plenty of time but the wasn't even around to do it last minute and didn't even have an assistant do it either. Probably just forgot. I had a track relay invitational a long time ago, where the coach forgot to get us in the competition but they just added us to the second heat. Our time was good enough for 2nd place but since we weren't in the official first heat we didn't get a ribbon.

    Don’t wait until the last min. The rules are rigid and they teach life lessons of not waiting until the last min and being prepared in case things don’t work out as planned.
    I saw the top qualifier in finals at a regional championship meet get DQ’d because she accidentally false started.
