      @@spencejoyIt all comes down to what your skin tolerates. A 7% solution of glycolic acid is still pretty darn strong, especially for sensitive skin or for those who aren't used to it. One should always shed lightly with active ingredients; it's better to use mild products and be consistent with them, instead of going at it every day or with high percentage products, as the risk of irritation or inflammation increase with using strong products (and active ingredients in general tbh).
      Not to mention how dependent your skin will be on sunscreen when using these types of products.

      Depends on the person, their skin concern, what their overall routine looks like, etc. Plenty of people can use it daily without any issue whatsoever.
      Experiences vary greatly in skincare, so we should be careful to not just assume everyone will react the same way with things, or think that the same thing will work for everyone, etc.

      It didn't do much for my acne. However, I've realized that the root cause of my acne lies within my body, mainly influenced by what I eat. I'm currently conducting an experiment to determine what foods I should avoid to achieve clearer skin. In terms of topical treatments, Benzoyl Peroxide has been most effective for reducing inflammation, although it doesn't address the root cause.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  4 месяца назад

      Well, it is acidic, and some bacteria do not like that, which means it could alter them, resulting in less odor or none at all. However, the area under your arms is very delicate, and these products often contain ingredients like preservatives that may be harmful over the long run, especially when used chronically. So, while I think it's okay to do this occasionally (if you tolerate it well and are not sensitive), I would not recommend doing it on an ongoing basis.

    Which product will remove sun tan? Can I use this product?🤔

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  10 месяцев назад +1

      A suntan will gradually fade over time as your skin naturally sheds its outer layer and generates new cells. This process usually takes a few weeks to a few months, depending on your skin type, natural skin turnover rate, and the depth of the tan.
      The key to fading a tan is really to minimize sun exposure. If you can't manage this, it will be difficult to reduce the tan effectively.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

      I recommend using the Vitamin C serum in the AM and Glycolic Acid in the PM. Using them in the same routine can potentially cause sensitivities. Yes, that's fine. However, the skin doesn't need to be damp. Just let Glycolic Acid absorb into the skin before applying the essence.

    Can i apply vit c moisturizer after using this ?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  10 месяцев назад

      It depends on the Vitamin C moisturizer. If it's an Itsibitsi cosmetic product, then yes. However, if it's very potent and has a high percentage of Vitamin C, like the one by The Ordinary, then it's not a good idea.

    can i use glycolic acid and salicylic acid at the same time?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  7 месяцев назад

      No, use either one of them or use them on alternate days to avoid over-exfoliating your skin. Alternatively, look into a formulation that already contains both so that it's nicely balanced :)

    can i use a la roche posay pommad duo plus after it?

      I do not recommend doing that, since it often leads to burning and stinging (maybe not right away, but after a few uses)
