I can't believe you stayed in the same hotel I did this last summer! I'm so glad I chose Casablanca to visit in Morocco. People kept telling me it's not that worth it because it's not touristy but I'd like to think I got a more authentic Moroccan perspective. I absolutely loved it. Great city and great video!

Thanks for this Jason! I worked in Casablanca for a year 1986-7 and then returned for a holiday in the mid-90's. Nothing much has changed apart from the new Mosque. Looks really clean and tidy and some nice memories of the city came back. Food was wonderful too! It might not be as scenically beautiful as some other cities in Morocco but I liked it. Meknes is a must see as is Essaouira.
Thanks Jason for letting me revisit Casablanca. At the beginning of the video , I could see and hear the traffic hasn't got any better! It was such an unusual experience and one of the most exciting places we visited on our cruise. I would have liked to see inside the mosque ,so thank you for the photos. It is spectacular! Stay safe .
Great video. I love Casablanca and you capture all that makes it a cool and sophisticated city that far better represents Morocco than the (albeit fascinating) cities like Fes and Marrakech. It sounds like this will be your last video from the country of this series. It’s a shame you couldn’t take the TGV to Tangiers and explore the north or some of the less-visited towns along the coast like Azemmour and Safi. They are also very real. Next time!!
Great video and thank you for the respect you give the country, people and culture. I've visited the mosque on three occasions and find it more magnificent than St. Peters', St. Pauls', or the Washington Cathedral in DC. If I ever get back to Casa, I will go again. No matter your faith, the structure itself causes a person to ponder the magnificence of a higher being. There is a visitor center where you get tickets for the tour which includes a fascinating look at how the cathedral was built.
Fantastic video showcasing the beauty and culture of Casablanca! It's always inspiring to see the rich history and diverse architecture of different cities around the world. The blend of traditional and modern elements in Casablanca truly makes it unique. Thanks for sharing this wonderful journey with us! #CasablancaExplore 🇲🇦💕
Great video as ever Jason. Such a shame that you lost your go pro and videos haven't been as frequent. Your style is so relaxed, chilled and informative. I always look forward to your videos and like I have said before your videos were a huge part in me plucking up the courage to start travelling on my own 3 years ago. Would be great to see you do a collaboration with Gabriel Traveller and or Indigo traveller as you guys are definitely the best travel you tubers 👍🙂
Thanks for an extremely informative video. My BIL and I are visiting in a few months. Your blunt honesty and in depth wandering was far more informative than the usual 10 ten lists plucked from Google on here.
Hi Jason what an exciting place to be and see some French architecture. It is very interesting and you do a great job so professional in your filming, music and speech presentation. You are the best. Take care and cheers. PEACE
Enjoyed this video, glad to know about this area. BTW, in various YT videos about Tangier, some people have traveled from there to visit Chefchaouen. I'd be interested to better understand its' general attraction.
A quick note here : You mentioned "Western Sahara" instead of "Moroccan Sahara". A lot of Moroccans would be angry at you if you say that in public. Great video, though. Cheers from Casablanca!
4:47 Portuguese how named it Casablanca, befor that was called Anfa, and the Spanish never been in Casablanca, the city has been occupied by Portuguese first then Frensh. ''Casa Branca, meaning "white house" in Portuguese''
I am talking about Hassan II Mosque. You can have a personal guide who will give you all the information you need about the building and you can also take a look to the museum
This is a wonderful video! I hope you enjoyed those Moroccan sweets. They are delicious to have with Moroccan tea. Can I ask you, which camera are you using to make these videos?? Thank you :)
A very good video, only it is brief. We know Casablanca, unlike other famous Moroccan cities, does not have much to offer, but you have missed many of its hidden jewels, and sometimes you pass them just inches aside. In the Habous quarter , there's the Pasha court. One of Hercules Poirot's episodes, with David Suchet, was shot there. In the Medina you missed la Scala building, outside there's Rick's caffè, the coast promenade nearby the great mosque. The Jewish museum. You missed a spellbound sunset at Ain Diyab district. Downtown, I had once the best fish meal I've ever has in my whole life. Sidi abderrahman's superstitious and dark magic island. Attending a football derby in d'honeur stadium, etc
Casablanca is the biggest City in morocco it has a very very old history in twenties it was like this as i said it's a very old history we call it the white City because everything is white the buildings
Why u didnt enter to the hassan 2 mosque brorther it s allowed inside this mosque u need to pay like 60 dh may be or more i dont remember and u will see the beautiful moroccan archetecture also there s a hamam in the basment of the mosque

Haha, small world!
Exactly, I'd prefer to go where the regular people are.
And which hotel please
I didn't expect casablanca to be that beautiful .... Love From Lebanon ❤️
Downtown has some really nice buildings.

It was great to be in Casablanca, along with you in your video. Seems to be a very distinct city and vibrant also.
It’s an interesting place, not touristy but a good depiction of city life in Morocco.
Darn. I’m sorry you lost your GoPro, too. There is no doubt the filming was spectacular. I always enjoy your videos.
Thanks, that’s kind of you to say.

I'm planning to be there in November. My brother said that there's a place called Essaouira( it's a small town) and it's the best place in Morrocco.
Essaouira is a nice small town but I wouldn't say the best place in Morocco. If you are a surfer, then it would be a good place to visit.
Absolutely love the country
The film Casablanca is still remembered for superb portrayal of characters in the film and the music score Direction true to reality.

Thank you for the kind words. I love Gabe’s videos, he’s one of the few people I watch. I’d love to meet him one day.
@@JasonBillamTravel Surely that can happen, I imagine he has seen your videos as well as you both have a similar relaxed style. Fingers crossed 🤞

Casablanca est une très belle ville, et c est une ville touristique, il ya d autre endroit d autre quartiers à découvrir.

Did you feel unsafe there at all? And which areas would you recommend seeing the most? Im also going to stay in the hotel you stayed in!

Morocco will organize the Club World Cup in a few days in the cities of Tangier and Rabat. You should come and enjoy the atmosphere
That’s pretty cool. Unfortunately I won’t be there.
