Hey, it was me who told you about the free camping on beaches in Louisiana for FREE. Holly Beach will only let you tent camp. But Rutherford Beach has free RV dispersed camping on the beach.
While I was contemplating our trip to Padre when we were house sitting in New Orleans 12/22/23 I discovered that Padre Island wasn’t the only beach along the Gulf Coast where there was free camping. Actually there were quite a number of beaches that allowed camping for free or for the purchase of an inexpensive permit - in Louisiana too! We were never charged a small fee. But if they do, I was told it is $5. Again, we didn't have to pay for 7 days. I never saw a sign saying you could only stay like the normal 14 days. We didn't even drive to Padre. We stayed there in Louisiana. Hope this helps. Man, y'all were STUCK LIKE CHUCK!!! No pun intended. 😁

I was wondering during your last video about someone getting stuck. Glad he got out easily. I absolutely love Galveston!! My aunt lived there for decades. If you drove down Church you went past her house. It's survived every hurricane. On the historical register. Safe travels. 🐾🙏🏻✌🏻

    Glad he got unstuck!
That storm blew through here. 50mph winds. Ripped my fridge roof vent off! I heard all this banging on my roof, but it was raining with very strong winds so I could not check it until today.
    Just another thing to repair!
Be safe. We have some nasty freezing weather heading this way soon.

When I lived close to the beach down in Rockport, there were so many trucks and RVs in the water after high tides. It’s very important to watch Tide levels when you park on the beach.

When I was a kid our station wagon got stuck in the sand there in Galveston. Parents were to busy crabbing. Glad you were able to get Jeff out. Enjoyed the drive with Dave. Teri and Scott had a meet up at the Pleasure pier in Galveston and I had a dream come true as met them. Ausia was sad you were not there. I met them through you and Carolyn staying at there house in Washington State long time ago. Even though the weather has been crazy I hope y'all are having a great time. Hugs to Moo moo and stay safe.

Try Shrimp N Stuff Downtown at 2506 Ball Street, they are fantastic ! Sunflower Bakery and Cafe has fantastic breakfast 512 14th street and also Millers Seawall grill 1824 seawall blvd., Check out Maceo spice and import company, La Kings confectionery and The Gumbo bar on the strand. These are all our favorites when we are in Galveston.

wow when I camp at Crystal Beach on the boulevard peninsula across from Galveston they have a group of jeeps that will come out and rescue you and all you have to do is let them know what barrel number you're parked at. That's south of Winnie Texas at Crystal Beach on Boulevard Peninsula. You can camp there for as many days and as long as you like you only have to buy a $10 parking permit at the big store in town. But I've seen big rigs get stuck in that sand and the year I was there it came all the way up to my camper and I was like it's time to get out of Dodge. Safe travels y'all I hope you get out of the sand

I think it would be scary to have the tide come underneath your rig. Then again the rain could do just as much harm. There are many really helpful people like the man in the white truck. I think that is something that we need to remember. I am looking forward to Galveston. Take care of yourself and Moo Moo.

Your not sinking, it is washing the sand from the shore back out into the ocean (beach erosion) and it is collecting at your tires. The tide actually went past your tires, maybe 4 to 6” deep.

Next time in Louisiana look for Rutherford Beach or Holly Beach. Both have free RV camping. Also, take the free Galveston ferry to Bolivar Peninsula and there’s free camping down there (if you’re still in the Galveston area). I love the Galveston area. Have you been able to go see the oak tree carvings from the hurricane?
