Made it seem so easy. I thought I was going to do the best fillets after watching this. But it was my first attempt ever, and I failed miserably. 😂 but it still tasted amazing. Maybe next time
Big snapper like that I save the collar. Also I try and cut the bloodline out totally. I hear if you are eating it fresh it doesn't matter but I do. Great video. learned a lot. Thanks.
Excellent tutorial! Thanks! Do you live right there next to where your boat is moored? We just went to a pier where some guys had fish for sale from Westport here in Washington and bought 5 red snapper. Learning how to fillet Thanks a lot
I ordered two of these based on the reviews. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxqmKabisEv81ul5v7OhvVxxOpt2CJruI- Received them on time and they look good. I really like the handle on these knives as they feel good in my hand. I'm giving them 4 stars on look and feel, but have not had the chance to put them to the test yet. I mostly fish for catfish and can hopefully try them out in the next few days. If they hold an edge throughout a limit of catfish, they'll be worth another star.Update...I used the 9" strong and the 9" fillet on a mess of catfish. I did put a sharpening on these before I started. I want a razor edge to fillet fish but they weren't quite that sharp. The people who gave these knives crappy reviews and said they were sending them back was because they weren't razor sharp. So what, do they not have a knife sharpener?? Good grief! I mean you have to sharpen any knife from time to time.I personally like them and am pleased with them. If you're too lazy to sharpen a knife then hire someone to clean your fish lol.I've never bought a knife in my life that would shave hair right out of the box. Don't be afraid to purchase the knives. They're pretty nice in my opinion.
Victor. Could you please post a video where the snapper is cut along the spine and through the top of the head. The bottom lips and belly become the hinge points. I’m not 100% sure if the spine is removed. Butterflied this way makes it so much easier to grill the fish whole. Both sides (left and right) are even thickness. I have pictures of fish filleted this way at the fish market. I’ll send you a pic. Thank you.
The "Knife Seen in Video" is not the "DEXTER OUTDOORS® SG133-8 8 INCH SOFGRIP® FLEXIBLE FILLET KNIFE" that is linked. The closest knife I have been able to find on the Dexter website is the "S131-6 6 INCH SANI-SAFE® CURVED BONING KNIFE". This knife is listed as a flexible blade knife. I am looking for a stiff blade knife in the same style as the Content Creator is using. Any advice, @DexterOutdoors ?
Terrible job. You threw away the collars!! Could've used the bones for stock. What a shame! Delete this and do another one. Watch how sushi chefs do it. You know the saying "don't send a boy to do a man's job".
you wasted the head and frames plenty of good eating.batter the frames and throw it in the oven or deep fry it and the head throw it in a pot boil it with onions and eat everything on it don't waste the fish
Ah man, you threw out the best part. Fish stock! Great video, thanks.
Not only that, but the meaty jaw is delicious fried. Lots of meat in that head he threw out. I'm kinda shocked!!!
Thanks bro! I’m gonna start my Fish Monger work and this tutorial means a lot! One love!
instead of throwing to the canal, you can make a delicious fish soup.

Yes, it was. I noticed you did not cut out the bloodline, glad to know that isn’t necessary necessary since I did not cut out my filets yesterday.

knife brand?
Nice video. Thanks!
Seems like a like of meat wasted. You ever try cleaning the fish and leaving it whole for grilling or baking?
He threw away one of the best parts which is the collar.
@@mt-cd4oy what is the collar specifically?
Thank you peace
Watching this with my Indonesian wife after we just ate red snapper... she's pissed you threw everything away 😂
The head is the best part.
Soup
Deep friend whole
Stream
I never know snapper looked like giant gold fish, gdamn!
as much as this fish cost that's alot to disregard
Top Man!
Man come on! You wasted a lot of that fish!
Good cutting skills but so much fish went to waste. Guess nobody eats the whole fish any more

Dear y dont u use twizzers to pluck out pinbones? That would save a lot of meat n also the looks of fillet as one whole piece
Usually works. The tweezers don’t work as well on some fishes though bc different fish have stronger and bigger bones
Filleh or fillet as in ends with t-sound? pop the eye eyes before you throw the frame in the water to be respectable" respectable to who?
I’m still baffled that so many people don’t eat snapper throat or cobia belly. But hey. A lot of people uneducated
As Denzel Washington said in training day My Nigga
Can i go fishing with you
result...there is no fish
Like always...
Too Much waste...
