Most young people don't understand how great it was to slow dance with someone you like. Man it was great. 😅
AMEN to that 💅😂
Sharon paige was so underrated as a female singer, primarily because she didn't really have a group of her own and did vocals on mostly male group's album's. But she held her own against any female artist of her day. She was purely sublime, a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. ❤
Totally agree with your comment. Sadly only recorded two or three songs with Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. However I’ve discovered she did record a single in her own right called You Don’t Even Know My Name, sadly as rare as hens teeth as they say. Found it on this platform though and really worth a listen, here’s the link..

Yes, teach the children well. Don’t destroy them.
Gotta give Harold Melvin some love on this one. He was co-lead on this one with Sharon Paige. Teddy sang the hook

With this song I fell in love at a very very young age,I was in standard 3.myself and a very dear friend and brother Wayne Pretorius sang this song tougher, and we got a standing ovation from the class, including the girl I was so mad about, and it meant a lot, unfortunately my friend passed away and I went solo,by singing Lionel Richie's best song GIRL.to her ,until today I remember, those special days while young...I'm 52... married for 24 years and so is she...saw her after a few years at her father funeral, and I felt special to have been part,of the procession.sawher husband and the beautiful children they blessed with. Her daughter looks exactly like when she was young...blessed family...may they grow old together... myself and Wifee is praying the same on our side... Michael aka Mr.Lionel Ritchie.
Teddy P. really made this one of the best bands of the day. There are bars in Japan that only play Soul music from this era, Soul bars. This would be immensely difficult to achieve back home in the U.S. The people over here really appreciate our music. I feel blessed ❤!
Facts. Been there and I was floored. I'm from Detroit and heard soul I've never heard before when I went to Japan.
This my late wife's Esellah favorite song by the late Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes feat.the late Sharon Paige,& the late Teddy Pendergrass. This song is 4 u.May u continue 2 R.I.H.😔😔😔😔
I was once a singer in a group from back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, when I hear the music of today it just makes me realize just how much precious the music from back in the days was, I really miss. I refuse to compromise by replacing it with today’s junk!
Well said dear Tyrone. The oldies were the best music vs 2days lyrics and beat.
Keep playing those songs. I enjoy listening 2 these kind of songs when Im unable 2 sleep. So soothing and relaxing. Brings sweet memories of my youthful. I hope the same 4u. 🎶🎵 Good night & Sweet dreams.
As a kid when this was out I remember seeing my parents having parties on Friday night and watching them two stepping (KCMO)!
What group did you sing with?
Thank you for sharing your comments about music today, because I too was in a group, and we used to open for some outstanding talent.
Right! I rather not even listen to music at all or even crossover If I got to listen to today's junk.
Soothing to my soul! They don't make music like this anymore

My very first album purchase, 1975...my grandfather had the 8-track in his car which is where I heard this from
I can listen to this on repeat and never get bored, every track is such a stonking track. Oh how those were the days when artists made great sounds. From Teddy's seductive voce and the out of this world lyrics. Another stunning piece of vinyl you need in your collection.
I’ve had this on repeat since Saturday night rap battle between Raekwon abs Ghostface Killa. They had a remix to this beat on a song called Rainy Dayz. Both been on heavy repeat ever since.
