"The First Noel" mentions shepherds watching over their sheep. When we think of people watching over each other, we think of nurses and caregivers in hospitals, care centers, and homes, keeping watch over those who are sick or elderly. We also think of teachers and parents, who dedicate their whole lives to children, who are their "sheep."
We are grateful to the staff of The Charleston at Cedar Hills, who allowed us to visit and film there, and to the residents who allowed us to sing for them and meet them. We were inspired by the kindness we saw between the staff and the residents, and by the tenderness the residents showed toward us.
We are thankful to Lynette Chidester, who has been one of Annalie's teachers at church, for participating in this video and representing the love teachers have for their "sheep."
We are grateful to the Smith family for lending us their adorable little boys and allowing Abby and Annalie to show that very young people can also be shepherds.
May we all follow Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd, by taking tender care of one another this Christmas and always! "And be ye kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:32)
