Hope is a beautiful miracle. Thankfully a good vet saw her lovely potential. It brings joy to my heart that Edie gave her a quality life. Now she crosses the rainbow bridge!
I'm a huge fan of your videos! I just got my own maltese rescue! We found her on the side of the road in October 2015, on a cold and rainy 3:00 in the afternoon. She was limping and our couldn't tell her gender back then. I lured her in with a hamburger but she ran right past me and into the car with us, she sat in the floorboard on the way home. What was also strange is that somehow she knew what a cage was and went and layed down in it when we got it for her??She is about 1 to 2 years old, female, and both her back knees have slid out of place. It is depressing to know this dog was terribly abused and mistreated, when we found her she was covered in mats and browned clots of fur. The woman she lived with claimed she only had cats and was allergic to dogs, and somehow this dog was wearing the collar of a cat who had died in 2009. That is what Faulkner animal hospital told us. Either way, this dog, when we brought her home, would approach you sideways, as if she were waiting for you to inflict harm onto her. I love her so much, and she is getting on well with her seasoned housemate, Darlin The Beagle. You have inspired me so much, keep doing what your doing! We need more people like you. Thanks, bye! (P.S: Her name is Sweetie and she has plenty of dog clothes, treats, and brushes)
You did good. We took in a Maltese, Parker, who had been both neglected (by the owner, a woman who had serious emotional issues) and abused (by her boyfriend). Everyone who knows my wife and me says Parker was lucky he wound up with us because we gave him a life filled with love and care, warm beds (when he didn't want to come up he doggie stairs onto our beds, that is) and healthy food and a wonderful, caring vet. Parker gave us 11 wonderful years of Maltese love and kisses but sadly Heaven must have needed him elsewhere. He was diagnosed with lymphoma and rather than pump him full of meds that are hard on his poor little system, we let him go to the Rainbow Bridge where we'll all meet again one day, God bless his loving little heart and while I miss him horribly, better I suffer than him. What a beautiful and precious baby!! Thank you Edie for turning her life around. I am so very sorry for your loss, it cannot be easy, but we forge ahead in respect of those precious fur babies and do our best for the next in line, in honor of the love and joy they gave us...never forgotten.
What a feisty little angel. I'm so glad she got well and comfortable with love and happiness. Each and every sentient life is so precious. How do dog/cat breeders sleep at night? Well, with a conscience switched off, I guess they sleep just fine. Society must stop accepting puppy breeders. All the dogs/cats people could possibly care for are in shelters and elsewhere, homeless.
