Broooo this is fucking crazy! I saw them at Afterschock. I had never listened to them but they played right before Gojira and Mudvayne. Literally one of the best live performances I’ve ever attended to. People were crowd surfing so much I just saw human bodies flying on top of me from all directions. Good times
Im just now learning about this change in lineup, and gotta say, I loved Lead sails but was hugely dissappointed when alex couldnt sing any of it live. In many cases, not even close. Brandon sings like a fuggin angel, and if hes singing clean vocals live perfectly like he always does, and fully embracing frontman duty, im in. energy was great, band sounded great. Atreyu has my attention again.
Huh? Why wouldn't they? You must not know Alex already left for a few years in the past and the band continued. He returned and then left a second time.
@@closinginonclosure First time he quit was because he needed surgery for his nodules and almost lost his voice completely. This second time, no idea why he quit but the band will go on without him.
@@ragnarokxg2113 He had different vocal issues well before that and just pushed through. Even changing his vocal approach on records and began screaming less and doing different things on Lead Sails. The vocal issues weren't the sole reason he wanted a "hiatus". He was just burnt out and stopping just also afforded him the opportunity to address his vocal issues properly. I remember him talking about being burnt out and wanting to focus on different areas of his life at the time. He posted about it on social media and opened a new gym. And he was happy doing different things. It's wasn't just because of vocal problems. I'm sure you could look up old interviews or even his old Instagram posts and stuff if you don't want to take my word for it.
@@closinginonclosure I know he also wanted to do other stuff. I just remember the first hiatus began as him having vocal issues, because I remember that as a time a lot of my favorite band singers also were having vocal issues.
@@ragnarokxg2113 Nah man. You remember wrong then. The vocal issues were a couple years before the hiatus. It had absolutely nothing to do with it. In fact, as soon as the hiatus began Alex started a new band called I Am War with a couple guys from Bleeding Through. They started writing and recording immediately after Atreyu stopped and released a record a few months later. 😂 I honestly have no idea why you're arguing something that just isn't true. Yes Alex is missing, but they still do great music. And one can't take this concert memory from me, as I was somewhere in the crowd and fucking enjoyed the music!

@@arthurlarrubia Haha, right on man. Yeah I have an old Fender Strat that's almost twice as old as me and the once white pick guard is almost cream colored now. The beauty of atreyu was the balance between the harsh vocals of Alex and the cleans of Brandon. Then they started going mainstream and tried forcing Alex to do clean vocals(why when you have a crooner like Brandon). They wanted to be mainstream, Alex wanted to be heavy and they kicked him out cause of it. Alex was the soul of the band and they are a hollow shell of what they used to be without him.
Brandon sounds good but mans need to look after himself better I think, he's really struggling with his breating which used to be one of his awesome skills live, he was slamming a kit an entire show and still could control his breathing far better back then.
Will Sasso absolutely killing it as a front man.

Brandon's voice is so good, such a talent!!! Soo cool to see him front the band! Good luck guys with the future.
Remember listening to them when i was a kid. Still listen all the time. Love them!!

Brandon taking one for the team! Glad to see this band still going strong and having 95 percent of its original members 💪🏼💪🏼
They only have 2 original members left. If you count when they FIRST started the band.
@@SilverDust90 to be fair, most people don’t count anything before Suicide Notes lol

Loved this band before, love this band still, they're fucking epic!
The drummer sing well, but i miss alex’s scream with a mixture of natural voice.
That was the key element of atreyu.
And he looks so cool😂
The song didn't hit the same without Alex. Mistake letting him go

Alex was a good frontman and screamer. He could somewhat sing.
They sound great on their own dare I say?!?
Epic performance
omfg what a energy :o

So nice live
I’m glad they’re still going but it is just losing too much without Alex there.

When it comes to songs from Suicide Notes, The Curse, Long Live, A Death Grip and even some of Congregation? Yes. Everything else? Not really.
