i want to get back up there and float a few of those rivers, was blown away by how big the rivers were up there... dream trip would be to start a missouri float somewhere in montana... going to have to spend sometime in the bitterroot range someday!
Hey man, watched a lot of your videos. Great stuff, really inspiring. I grew up in Whitefish so I've spent my fair share of time on lake McDonald, never had much luck catching anything. If your ever up in that area again, Blankenship bridge is an awesome free camping spot. Its right at the confluence of the middle fork and the south fork of the Flathead. I live in Missoula now but try to make it back up there every year. Good luck in your travels!!
The best place to float the Missouri is at the breaks up in Fort Benton. You start the coal banks put in and float 105 miles. They have shuttle services that will take your rig farther down the river. I've done it a couple times. All flat water, takes about 5 to 6 days.
What kind of aluminum canoe is yours ? A Grumman ? Like your videos, dog, and canoe. Like to see a video on your aka and amas and mast and sail set up. Glad you are making stuff yourself.
great adventure. love to be there !!! Good luck in Your trips!!! f
