    Does anyone else find his voice incredibly soothing?

    • @rr7firefly
      @rr7firefly 7 лет назад +9

      Yes, it occurred to me that Prince (Rogers Nelson) also had a voice of this type. Whenever he was on a talk show his whole demeanor was relaxed. And you were relaxed listening to him.

    • @Cherbear609
      @Cherbear609 7 лет назад +3

      Yes Noe, Prince seemed to be so comfortable with the universe... i.e.; cause & effect. I'll never believe that his sudden death wasn't a hit... some very powerful elite (I have no idea who) wanted him gone!

      Yes. I didn't know I was interested in hydroponics until I watched these videos. His voice is soothing and that's one of the two reasons I subscribed. The other reason is his tendency to recycle.

    Thanks Khang :) It's easy to get side tracked by other videos that have great demos but use a lot of other gardening gear that you don't just have lying around the house. I like this way as it is cheaper for a beginner and all I have to do is buy the plant nutrient - everything else I can find around the house.

    Aluminum foil and tape works well for eliminating light penetration in your container. This minimizes algae growth in the root growth container where the hydroponic water fertilizer solution is.

    It is amazing how much fruit was on the pepper in the beginning of the video. One would think you would need a much larger container. I just planted some peppers in my Aerogarden that I plan to practice crossing per your video that demonstrates how to do it. You created the interest in me to begin experimenting creating new varieties.

The pepper today still looks like your pepper plant before putting in hydroponic. And the honeydew melon is looking really bad. Because of you, for the very first time, I have my cheap hydroponics set up. I transplanted both of them. I used Masterblend solution and did not use half strength. Oops! Right now I am experimenting. Trying to use what I have on hand. Instead of buying chemicals, I am soaking rabbit poop. Drain off water to feed my plants. Using what I have at home, I will see what happens.

    Instead of drilling holes that may lead to cracking of the plastic container... You may opt to use a soldering iron to make holes by melting through the plastic.

    • @raremedium4091
      @raremedium4091 7 лет назад +1

      Heating or melting through plastic can release harmful chemicals that leave a residue on the container... guess one could wash them off? Also melting the hole would make them less sharp edged, wouldn't it? Shhh, don't think about it, I just meander through my thoughts while answering- it's not you its me.

      Why not just cut off the bottom of one of the containers, put the plant in a net cup with hydroton, put the netcup in the bottom off cup, in the second cup put a few hydroton and fill with water to bottom of the net cup hits. Then put the cut off cup with net cup inside into the other cup. That's what I did and they seem fine. Drilling left little particles and melting is toxic.

      Change out the water weekly, ensure as little light getting in as possible, let the tap water stand in a cup for at least 24 hours before putting it in the container to allow chlorine to leave the water, make sure you're not putting too much nutrients in it.
      Keep the water as clean as you can.

    Hi I have had problems drilling plastic as it does shatter so I recommend heating a metal spit roast skewer over a flame and it makes light work of making holes in plastic and polystyrene as we call it in England but be sure to not breath in any fumes.

      Darren Brignell I'd suggest washing the plastic after burning the hole

    Add an aierator to the water and would grow even faster. Simplistic hydro operation.

    Please can you do a comparison of growth between this system and regular growing in soil? I would love to see the difference in growth!

    if you put masking tape over tub and drill it help not to crack or break// ,the same tape you use for protecting windows when painting.

    paint black on the inside of the brown paper. I like the design of brown paper outside. And removable paper seems good in order for us to see once in a while the roots. Thank you for the ideas. Also, some said perlites [permeable or more air], coal [cleans water; but, will it clean it from pests?] and clay pebbles [stores water].

    Can I use pebbles instead of the clay you used?

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  8 лет назад

      Regular pebbles can be very heavy and will crush your young plants. Also, certain type of stones will change pH of your water.

    Hey Khang very nice video, please keep a log on the growth between the regular plant and the hydroponic one. Like you said there doesn't seem to be much of a difference with only two weeks. It will be interesting to see how well this method works. Also is there any reason why you switched back to the Flora hydroponics instead of the masterblend?

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  8 лет назад

      +YaribGaming I will try to remember to log this and update as they grow. I still use Masterblend for vegetative stage. When the plants begin to bloom, I switched to GH because it allows me to mix different parts separately, adjusting to fit my plants' needs.

    I have several peppers in systems I made with oxy clean buckets, small net cups and some rock wool. They've really taken off.
