I think your brain saw the wrong icon. You are probably talking about "Adrenaline" powerup which reloads the gun faster or shortens INTERclip time (the reload between magazines). INTRAclip reload boost is different. It doesn't speed up reloading magazine but speeds up shot intervals in the loaded magazine.
@@sircallmemahvayno, he used the interclip reload boost really poorly throughout the game. On the shots at the start he didn’t need to use it and wasted it.

How did he reload without shooting his last shell
Look into the control settings
On pc there is a reload button. Not sure what it is on mobile (pretty sure there is one but not 100%)
