The real problem of paper rex. It's not w gaming it's because of their map pool sucks. I think w gaming is good with fast hits and good combos util. The main issue of paper rex because of their competition in pacific is low just geng and secret can beat them and stomp the rest, they don't know what maps they're good on like icebox, they stomped dfm and drx but got destroyed by geng and another issue is the only maps they're good on is raze maps and pearl but like ascent, icebox, haven they suck at it because they cant play raze and jing is not flexible only sage and that's main reason why prx will probably never win a international event.
Ascent comp was troll though, they want play dive comp but harbour and reyna are not dive agents. Should have done some shit like omen sova raze jett and kayo or gekko
@@emotionalavocado2336 yeah i agree raze and jett should be it like harbor on that map is troll i think they taught that they will still be good at that comp because they did find sucess on that comp last year on tournaments but it's not a good idea to change comp last minute when they picked clove in ascent when they played against zeta and they got destroyed and got scared and changed it to their old comp just weird what alecks thinking
agree. i just love w gaming. but after Copenhagen their playstyle bit changed. I think that was peak w gaming era. now there is no set plays at all or when they playing set plays utility not sync like before. but when they played masters tokyo i found little bit their set plays working well because of cgrs utility. i doesn't agree one fact. i think pacific competition is higher than before. that's why they cannot experiment more. I watched prx from shiba days. back in day they always experimented in challengers because they know they won't loss
smth and jinggg having tons of ranked hours but refuse to expand their agent pool frustrates me. On haven they could put jinggg on jett/neon/raze and smth on breach
The issue of prx in shanghai is bc they made a completely new playbook for jinggg when he came back. The breach comp on lotus was tailored specifically for jinggg which likely caught pacific teams off guard. Its also important to keep in mind that prx can skill diff most pacific teams as well. Since we know that prx have limited practice and a rusty jinggg we can probably deduce the week map pool with lotus appearing to be an insane map for prx with a 13-0 against talon. But if we actually look at the lotus comp, the no sentinel is already awful bc of the lack of info around one of the largest maps in valorant, with some of the quickest attacker rotations. It is quite literally impossible to play that comp without instantly fighting for half the map on every round. On attack, if ur too slow, u lose, on defense, if u lose the early fight, or even get traded, u lose. Check out platoons video to learn more abt the importance of info in valorant, specifically sentinel info on defense.
as a PRX fan and a boomer FPS player, i think PRX can scrape their way into winning an international soon if they play high discipline post plants when attacking. Other than that, i rather not see them change anything because it is what makes them fun to watch. I can say that without Benkai, the play style looks less creative and mindfreak often gets caught off guard on his own (lurking or setups). Something (the player) brought a heck of alot of fire power to this team at the expense of creative game plays that benkai can cook up. even if PRX never win an international tournament going forward, I will always buy their bundle. #wgaming
i'd say from what i watched of recent stage 2 Paper Rex the "W Gaming" aspect of their game has definitly been reduced they feel way more disciplined now.
their team coordination also seems to have gone down a lot. previously prx was known for making plays together and taking map control with big groups of 3-4 whereas now there are a lot of situations where they try to find solo plays which ends up costing them round wins
@@hmmm4262they always look good in regionals matches cause the level isn't the same as like Americas. Ofc they can just run through most teams but when the face actual good teams they can't handle like sen g2 100t.
W gaming is good but you cannot use it everytime, and W gaming ≠ Straight up throwing(that's the big reason they lose Masters Shanghai) Now they started to be more disciplined on the ez post plant, the only problem now is they still have a problem with the comps in some maps
Earlier in the year, Alex said they wanted to improve on their map pool but their map pool is still ass because the 2 duelist are not so flexible... they have to set a fixed role on primary duliest either being Jinggg or something... maybe something will try to flex more because it seems like he is willing to try (based on previous games and also their recent interview)... hopefully next year, they get one of them to practise more agents especially KJ... be someone like Meteor from GenG who can play Duelist/Sentinel extremely well
They kinda fixed the throwing thing that happened in shanghai. But their map pools are so shit. Reason why last year they performed so good was bcs skye, the flexible flash make their w gaming stronger on alot of maps. And riot now nerfed raze that makes prx playstyle even more limited. Im not expecting anything in this champion, but i hope they figure out what they are lacking.
the new meta is all about w gaming and stopping that w gaming, neon, iso, etc buffs while teams playing double sentinel specifically deadlock and cypher. this meta is already blooming in tier 1 and it will only continue to develop...as for prx, they know what to dobecause as you said the team lands in top 4 a lot so there is no need for massive changes. imo they lack hype players/ confident players if you know what i mean. sen has zellsis, 100t has boostio, c9 has oxy and so on. prx lose confidence when losing and start choking which is an issue with most apac teams. i think that na and emea handles that very well and do not lose their cool which is why they manage to hold on and turn the tables.
The playstyle is totally fine. Adaptability is a big factor into how Valorant is played. Paper Rex plays a with lot of adaptability. They have a few set util combos and then it's just boom boom boom and enter. They only have 2 issues - overheating and map pool. They always overheat in winning scenarios. It's especially true if it's a decent opponent who knows how to fire back at them. Against certain lower rated teams it works but when it comes to big teams (FNC, SEN, EG) then it starts falling apart. Their map pool also sucks. It used to be decent because Fracture and Pearl are decent-ish Raze maps for Jinggg to fly in get 2 picks and then get out. However with how big Icebox and Breeze are and with how choke-y Ascent is, Raze is just not viable over a Sentinel like KJ/Cypher. And the only Sentinel he plays is Sage which sucks. With such a shit map pool, they can only ban Haven/Ascent, win Sunset/Lotus, Flip a coin on Bind/Icebox and then lose Ascent/Haven (whichever isn't banned). And then in BO5 it's even worse since if the enemy team wins Lotus or Sunset, they get easily 3-0'd.
The biggest issue with prx is mental. Not really mechanics or coordination. W gaming worked really well but they also tend to be overconfident and is prone to peek more. If you watch stage 2 of pacific play offs, you can see them work their objectives around the spike more and often plays post plant compared to their previous runs where it’s just “kill everyone u see, fuck the spike.” Their team also recently hired a “mental”? Staff. To help reduce the pressure off them when playing BO5. Overall, they still have amazing coordination and in game mechanics. A lot of their issues are purely mental stress and maybe holding angles lol.
hot take - they should've not benched monyet and let jingg be the 6man, jingg has low heropool inshort not flexible, he only knoss raze and sage. If they want to win intl events jingg needs to learn more agents so they can expand their map pools.
I hate that server. the smurfs and cheaters are overwhelm. be a diamond and can drop to even iron because 80% player is not on their rank. who ever get from that rank and still high rank is a real strong in reflex, instinct, and personal skill. didn't mean they are suck at teamwork to, bad server. also people are real toxic. gen.g never associated with W gaming, they always relied in their extremely dynamic attack setups, they don't have a defined method of playing and prx having played G2 pretty much layed a blueprint that how easy their aggresive setups were punishable
