all of your projects and color choices are so perfect!! amazing episode as always and thank you so much for all your kind words, you are amazing annesophie
Okay, but that dusty moose colour is absolutely stunninggg! I’m so excited to see your finished boat neck tank! Also, your colour choices are unmatched. As always, loved the podcast ❤
I had almost the exact same vision and issues as you with the Top Sol (although I knit it in Sandnes Garn Line). I ended up adding a crochet slip stitch border around the armholes, which reduced the gaping a bit. And I put an extra tie part way up the v-neck to make it less deep. But generally I've been wearing it over a white bandeau or a white square neck tank, like oushan24 suggested, rather than by itself in the end. I reckon it will also look good over a long-sleeved tee as we get into autumn? Mine ended up very cropped too, so I'm also planning to add a bit more length when I can find the motivation! Happy Sunday from Brussels!
simultaneously so sad but so comforting to hear i'm not the only one with these issues! i'll definitely try out the slip stitch edge suggestion, that's so smart ✨ so fun to see you're located in belgium! i'm from gent and live here as well at the moment 🥰
I had the same issue with the Sol Top, but wear it with Sloggi sports bra in white, which provides the cover in all the necessary places and it does look great.
that's so sad! multiple people have reached out now saying the same thing 🥺 thanks for reaching out too, feels nice to know it's not necessarily a 'me'-problem... although i am very glad to hear people seem to make it work like that! i hope i'll learn to love it myself (and otherwise... i'll either have to shrink it in some way, do some surgery or full-on frog and re-knit it on way smaller needles next spring 😅😂)
Happy to have found your podcast today! Summer knits are so tough. I feel your pain on things being too big or too small. Everything I made last year had to be frogged. At least with small knits it’s a bit less devastating having to start over. Hang in there!
oh, hi! i absolutely love your podcast, so happy to hear i can offer you some entertainment in return 💕 sad to hear you know the struggle, but thank you so much for the kind, reassuring comment
have you thought about wearing your top sol over a white bando or a square neck spaghetti strap top? i feel like it would solve the deep v-neck and low armholes isssues while still allowing the top sol to shine all your fos and wips looks amazing, very much enjoyed this episode !!
hahah i just saw them live and this song has been stuck in my head ever since! such a great band 💕 how they manage to leave such an impression even though they were followed by 3,5 hours of taylor swift is beyond me!!
@@candidknit wow I did not know that they are still performing - and then even before Taylor Swift! 😂 for me this song is school holidays 2009, playing sims 3 all day long
If you're really unhappy with your Sol top, I think you should just rip it out and do it again or make something else. I totally get it, I also finished a top on 3.5 mm needles recently, it's cotton viscose and so tightly spun, I just can't get the tension to look right. It's very sloppy and I hate it, I know I won't wear it. So I threw it into my closet until I get the courage to rip it out and start something else with it, but I know it's the best choice because it would just be taking up space and yarn without being loved.
actually, you might be so right about this! maybe i'll just frog it and try re-knitting this first in the spring on much smaller needles 💕 and if that doesn't work, find a different purpose for the yarn... thanks so much 🤍
Serais tu Québécoise 😊 Si oui, bonjour du Québec Good to know for the Sol Top since it's very trendy at the moment, we have the same bust size so I'm sure it would look like that for me too... It happened to me with the Thea Top, where the fabric looked wider and more like a vest, not fitting the same as the sample picture. Thank you for sharing
non, je suis belge! mais flamand, donc ma français n'est pas du tout parfait 😂 i think i was very much in denial about my being off gauge, even after going down a size. i realized i forgot to mention that in this video... but many of the other FO's on ravelry look more floppy as well so i'm thinking maybe the designer has an especially tight gauge? so sorry to hear about your thea top! thanks for the sweet comment and hope you have a lovely day 💕
If you are dissapointed in your top, I would suggest you frog it back to the armholes and shorten them and add some length to it. You will be much happier and will wear it. As it is, you won't which is a waste. Otherwise, gift it and make a new one. I would suggest going forward, you check your gauge, try it on more, make sure you have enough yarn for your projects and pick the right size. After all, it is just knitting which we love to do. Making a me made wardrobe is intentional and slow fashion. Love your dress. It is turning out amazing.
i was starting to contemplate re-doing it entirely, but taking out some of the length before the join at the armholes makes so much more sense! thanks so much, will for sure try that out first 💕 absolutely agree with you on all of this!
hi, if you dont follow the pattern its kind of not fair for det designer to shame it? And if patterns are for sale, do the designer wanna you to tell how to make them? I just wonder.. :) I think the Sol use it over a bikini ? or make a new armhole border and bindof with smaller needles and fewer stitches?? :) i love the dress, so neat!
hi! i'm afraid i'm not following entirely... which pattern did i shame in your opinion? and in which way did i not follow it? i like getting feedback but it might be more helpful if i know what you're talking about 😅 in any case, i hope me being confused here shows this was really never my intention 😥
Such a pity about the Top Sol, but I see it as a kind of slipover with a nice white flowy longsleeved shirt underneath. Good luck! Love, Sally in Sweden
Just found your podcast, enjoyed watching. Love how you post the project stats about the amount of yarn used. Thanks

A top from true summer knits looks so good, I definetely need one!

oh my, that's just the best idea!! thanks so much 💕
re: yarn-chicken situation, it can be that people have different knitting tension which affects the way yarn is used up
aha, that's what i thought! slightly confronting that tension can really differ that extremely though 😳 thanks for commenting 💕
I’m making the Top Sol in wool and using it as a vest. Yours looks amazing
that's very smart!! i'm sure it'll look lovely 😍
Look forward to the release of the Campanula tee pattern.
rightfully so!! it's already one of my favorite things i've ever made 💕
loved the Paramore quote 😂 it made me feel so nostalgic

I like the decreases you did on the grey top better then the blue one. They look cleaner.
thanks!! after blocking the blue one i totally agree my decreases look neater in that order

Joining in pain of breaking the needles by sitting on them 😢😢 truly a rite of passage
😭😭😭
I sat on my metal needles and both of them punctured my skin! 😮 So it was just me that was broken. Yikes.
