The music in La Sylphide is so beautiful. I wonder why the music for the Taglioni version by Schneitzhoeffer has never been recorded on CD? Surely the music must have great historical value?
Most musician find this music very mediocre, actually they find ballet music very mediocre and they are not so wrong. It won't be recorded because it takes too much money for a mediroce composition. There are some good parts it, i agree, but i wouldn't say it is an outsanding music.

This is spectacular choreography. I remember La Sylphide being very intricate corp work but this is incredible.
