@@dhn2549 because you technically only lose ISK if you never gain ISK. Kill mails are not currency in-game. It's a record of a kill. You are technically not efficient from a killmail, only actual loot. There's a huge difference. The reason why it matters is because EVE now supports buying plex. Just throwing ships, essentially money, at a battle to suicide and not actually gain anything is not a good thing. It just means you're willing to throw ISK at something until you win to gain nothing but a kill record. You new players have a silly way of looking at success.
If your enemies loss is greater than yours regardless of their numerical supremacy then technically you are efficient. When the cost to them is more than yours then it's a strategic victory. In the end both sides lose something so it boils down to who lost the most.
