great video Mike. love all the testing. that some great battery cable. I use the Windy nation wire in my installs . pure copper fine strand . I use the Windy nation copper lugs as well. UL listed ! nice heave pure copper. 73's
It was charging. I believe, if you are seeing 14V that should be the open circuit voltage (no load) on the charger, the BMS has isolated the cells. Once the voltage is 13V as you indicated the BMS allowed the cells to charge. I was waiting for smoke, I am a little disappointed. 🙂
Bought this exact battery last year to run a security camera in a shed. I had it fed with three 100 watt panels and it couldn't handle the cold of winter. It was dead by January with a constant .5 draw only. I believe the heaters are not efficient and draw too much from the battery causing the BMI to shut them down. Problem is once BMS shuts them down they wont take a charge from from my Victron charge controller (they have to be put on a manual charger for a bit). The fatal flaw is the auto heaters basically use too much energy in the colder months. Totally defeated the purpose for me...
Mike, I saw you have the Li Time inverter and I just bought a Li Time 100 amp hour battery because of Will Prouse's videos. It doesn't have the auto heating like yours but it will do the job I need it for. Thanks for the video. 73. N3EDO
AC amp conversions to DC amp conversions strike my brain yet again... (as in, I've forgotten to do them multiple times at this point and I'm always shocked at the difference between what I was expecting and what the meter says). I tend to think in terms of AC wavey boi amps for devices designed to be powered by AC (and vise versa), so throw an inverter in the mix and it blows my mind that an 11amp (AC) heat gun will actually draw like 121+ or - amps on DC battery power inversion. (depending on said inverters efficiency etc.), but that is indeed correct. I get similarly confused when traveling abroad and purchasing things in the local currency, or when converting the metrics to the freedoms.
I started watching your channel because I was interested in getting into ham. I won't be doing that this year now, I'm here looking for batteries. I work out on the road gone all summer. I got home yesterday to find all my things stolen. My solar batteries, jackery, water filters, the list goes on. Nothing left but my little camper with the door left open for months. Now im sitting here waiting on Amazon for the cheapest mppt china has to offer.fe hopping this old marine battery I was given still got a little life in it. Won't be powering any radios for awhile just needing some lights.
I really like that Power Queen Mini. But it depends on what features you need. If you're in a cold environment this would be great. I like the Mini because it fits in my harbor freight apache case and I made another battery box out of it. They're all good quality though.
that was the 20 amp charger from Bioenno. www.bioennopower.com/products/14-6v-20a-ac-to-dc-charger-powerpole-for-12v-lifepo4-batteries-bpc-1520a You can save 10% off Bioenno stuff with code HRT at checkout too.
Younger! Bolder! Stronger!
Redodo is really putting out some quality batteries.
The continuous trailer park boys references never fail to have me dead 😂
Oh this is sweet! I may need to get one of these for the camper. Thanks for showing this and giving it a good testing for us, Mike!

Great test thanks Mike!!
Hi, can this battery be charged by the outboard while the boat is moving? The output voltage of the motor is 15A! Regards, Julian
For radio use only, any preference between the [Ape] Redodio [/Ape] and the Power Queen?

There goes all future sales of my crocheted wool battery cozy’s?
If I win the Power Ball tonight... Thanks and 73, KF0NNQ.
Throwing batteries in the freezer now. I love it. LMAO
Hey you gotta test the features...
What charger were you using?
