@@andy.elliott.foreverpens heck yeah I was a young new homeowner when I bought it and it served me well, I was so happy with it for the price I bought the hedge trimmer as well as two extra batteries. So I had two chargers and four batteries. Now I have a nice DeWalt set that my mother-in-law got me on a wicked good sale.
Thanks guys, received the plan's, now need to get more wood for the 3 I need to build for Grand kid's... great plans well laid out and easy to follow...
What an absolutely brilliant project, you make it look so easy. My son asked me to make him a wishing well for his garden. This looks perfect. Thankyou so much for sharing. Without hesitation I have subscribed. Looking forward to your future videos. Again, thank you so much for sharing.
Very beautiful you made it look so easy and i had to rewind it to see you roll the wood up again it blew my mind for a second ..thank you for sharing your video with us
Fantastic idea! I'm wondering if I can recreate this by using the cheap wooden fence slats. I may pick a few up and give it a try. I've already made some birdhouses for gifts this year, so I think I'll be working on this one for next year, or upcoming birthday gifts.
Hi, Guys! It's impressive to see what you get from scrap wood! I'm just thinking about a surface and thickness planer, but after this video I think I will not need any... Kind regards and best wishes from Germany, Thomas
Hi Thomas! after I made this video, I managed to get my hands on a planner / thicknesser which made the job of making these wells so much easier! I made quite a few to sell, so it was well worth the investment (no Pun intended!!!) Thanks for watching!
Love the video shows me an idea how to do it. Always wanted to try. Now I can. ☺ I have tons of pallet boards piled that I use to make homemade items. Wish me luck Thank you
Your video Is very inspiring. Thank you for the plan I received this morning. Your generosity is right up there with your talent. I've just subscribed. Cheers!
the blade guard should always be set about 1/8 inch above the stock that you are cutting. It seems that you had it at least one to two inches above the stock that you were cutting. Setting it too high will sometimes cause the blade to break.
fabulous guys! i’ve wanted one of these to build a well fountain or bird feeder inside. super repurpose of the wood and skills, no to mention tools you could now, as i want to do, put a small electric pumped well in it!
Not sure how old this video is but it's great. I have sent through an email to you Andy to ask if there might be any chance of getting the plans as this would be a wonderful activity to do with elderly people living in residential care.
I love the look of the wishing well, but for those of us who have never built anything, some instruction would have been helpful even if it's only in text form.
You're an artist mate, a lovely something out of basically nothing, that's real talent my friend, keep it going! We've had some nice times around Owenahincha, Skibereen and Cork city before my wife took ill, we met some lovely, friendly people, best regards to you and yours mate!

Wow amazing job Andy, just started doing garden features ,planters etc .. Learning so much off these videos, what glues and sprays do you use ? Thanks for a great video,👍👍👍
So are the wishing well “walls” 30 degrees each and then the “skirt” around the top 22.5 degrees each? I struggle to get mine neat and tidy at the top, I assumed it would be 30 degrees like the body?
No mate, at the start the video shows a text box in the corner that says "tilt blade to 22.5⁰" for the drum section. The trim across the top is also 22.5⁰, ye should match perfect then!
Wow amazing build I specialyliked how you made the sides That's shows great skill I can only dream of. i read the comments and I was hoping I could.email.you and Bother you for the pdf plans Kind regards rose
Hi buddy. Long time no see lol. The time has come for me to now take on this project for my little girl. Would it be possible to get the plans for this please ? Thanks Keith
Nice build: a few questions. You seem to be lucky in having wide battens; most pallets I can get have narrower ones. What types of adhesive were you using? There was a spray of some kind; there was a white guey compound but not specified and was that cyanoacrylic in the tubes? Also you seemed to mix two adhesives at one point. I'd like a much fuller explanation of that if possible. I am making wishing wells from 'recycled timber to sell as well, but also attempting to make some more sophisticated stuff like lighthouses and windmills. Some of the stuff on Pinterest is really cool and might well sell OK> What do you charge for your wells?
Hi Barry! Wide boards seem to be an issue with many people, so I guess Lucky would be accurate! For my wells, I use a 6" board. The most common ones seem to be about 4", so i recommend gluing 2 together, then ripping a 1" strip off each side. This will give you the right size board, but also but the join in the middle. Edge jointing is vital on this though! The spray is an activator for CA Glue. For the base and the roof slats, I use a combination of CA glue of exterior wood glue. CA Glue in the ends and middle, with Wood glue in between for strength. The CA glue acts as a clamp while the wood glue dries & I can move on with the project. For the sales price, I base that on the quality of the wood, and how nice it looks once its completed. If the wood looks a bit more rough, then I'l drop the price a little, but as a general rule, I sell them for €50 Euro each. Free plans are still available if you would like a copy. just email me at andydascouser@live.ie and I'll forward on a set to you. Any further questions, please feel free to drop me an Email or a PM message! Thanks for watching the Video, I really appreciate it Barry!
