The soundtrack release contains too many variations of the main theme, but this long journey through a beautiful arcadia is one of my all time favorites. I Cantori Moderni shines also, again, as on so many other Morricone scores. This is unsurpassable music. Needless to say that the man was a genius. I'm still angry that in 1967 Hugo Montenegro had a top 10 hit with a bloody cover version of the Good, Bad & Ugly theme. Like he had also composed it. That's what most people thought. "Morricone? Never heard of."
