- Follow along as I paint a tribute to all of the essential workers who kept us safe during the pandemic of 2020. This is for all of the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, fire, POLICE, EMS, restaurant and grocery store workers, truckers and everyone else who gets up and does their job while risking getting sick. The world is starting to recover, but for many, it's been business as usual. Thank you!
Like this video? Want to buy me a coffee or a new tube of paint... or generally just support the channel?
Now you can and it would be most appreciated. Once I reach my $1,000 goal, I'll be buying a second camera to record my mixing palette since it's the number one request I get. Cheers! www.buymeacoffee.com/steveatk... Хобби
Love to watch you paint, Steve! I would also like to see how you prepare your panels!! Please share! Thank you very much!
Thanks Glyndathor... you got it!
Love, love, love your museum putty idea for attaching the canvas -- how awesome! Actually I picked up a lot of great painting tips from you in this (definitely coming back for more). This is probably my favorite painting of the month -- colors, content, and the salute to essential workers! With appreciation ❤️
What a sweet comment. I really appreciate the compliment! I'm so blessed that I've been able to do this for as long as I have and I remind myself of that every day. And thank you for tuning in, I'll keep doing this as long as you do!!!
@@SteveAtkinsonFineArt Thank you, Steve! VERY much looking forward to your next painting!!!

Thanks LHS! I appreciate the compliment and thanks for tuning in!!
Yes, Steve, I'd like to learn how you make your panels. Especially interested in your use of Gatorboard vs. ply or masonite. Thanks for all you do!
Will do! And you're most welcome, I love doing it!!!
Just lovely! Thank you for dedicating it to the corona virus Heroes. They don't get nearly enough recognition.
I agree Deborah, they're great!
Love your painting. Learnt a lot from your videos. Thanks.
Hi there Miriam, I'm glad you're finding them helpful, and thank you for watching!
Hey buddy. Fantastic as usual! I appreciate the comments about letting the underpainting show in spots. Great tip! Another vote for yes, please show us how you make your panels.
Thanks Steve, it's in the works now, I think I'll be doing it for my very next upload. Thanks for watching!!!!
Instablaster.
Truly AMAZING!!!!
Aw, thanks Paul!!!
So informative and a super gesture of dedication to all those heroes. Thanks for sharing your years of experience.
Hi Maureen, it's the least I could do. I get to stay in the relative safely of my studio bubble and don't go out much cuz my 85-year-old father-in-law lives with us, so we're very careful to keep him safe. I'm glad you find my videos helpful, thanks for watching!!
Love the colors, I was screaming stop!!
Me too!!!
Thank you. It's nice to be appreciated.
No, THANK YOU Bruce! Stay well my friend!!
I've watched many of your videos and they've all been great! Thanks so much for your teaching, you've been a great help to me.

Thanks Judy, c'mon back in a couple weeks, my plein air panels will be my next video tutorial!
Love it !
Thanks Brian!!!
Molto bello, grazie Steve! ♥️
You're welcome, and thank you Maurizio!
Nice tribute, and beautiful work. I would be interested in seeing how you make your panels. Interestingly, I use the museum putty trick too. Museum putty is my duct tape.
Thanks Tim, I'll be posting the panel tutorial as my next video, stay tuned!
Liked this video and I am painting on craft paper until my paintings are better. Love the music!
Thanks Charm! I like that idea!
Beautiful work as usual!
Thank you Shane!
MR. ATKINSON IS A GREAT ART MASTER. IT IS A GREAT PLEASURE TO WATCH HIS DEMOS. I FEEL DIVINE MICHAEL ANGELO IS REBORN AS STEVE ATKINSON. SOME PUBLISHERS MAY COME FORWARD ,& PUBLISH HIS PAINTINGS IN BOOK FORM FOR POSTERITY. I LOOK FORWARD TO FIND A BOOK IN THE NEAR FUTURE ANILKUMAR...MUMBAI...INDIA
wonderful impressionism, lovely painting my friend a lesson in colour.
Thank you so much 😀
Wow! What a gorgeous video! Perfection! Please do a video showing your panel process. Thank you!
Thank you! Will do! It's my next video...
the brush strokes on that face reminds me of Rembrandt's group portraits
Thank you!
Me too, i want to know how you make your panels. Thanks!
Coming soon!
Great video Steve. The painting is gorgeous and what a tremendous gesture. I do something similar to you to stick my panel on my board but I use Blu Tack. It may not be as strong as museum putty though.
Basically the Blu Tack is the same as the Museum Putty, just a name brand thing. You haven't had any problems with it falling off have you? Thanks for watching Steve!
@@SteveAtkinsonFineArt No, no problems at all Steve. Though I wouldn't think it would work well with MDF or other wood.
Yes please! I'm having a show soon and need to prepare some panels like 30 :-). Please!!! Thank you forward!
You got this! It'll be my next video...
Yes, please show us how to make your panels. Like to see it...
Sounds like I need to do a video showing how I make panels... thanks for the vote Michael.
Hi Steve... another beautiful piece and for a good cause. I had an opportunity to do a similar thing back in April when a project came up from the UK. A teacher was looking to have his class done in individual caricatures as a gift because they were not going to be able to be present in their classes and graduate because of their lock down. I told him that I would do the project but instead of paying me, to donate the amount to a local charity, which at the time was the NHS, which is the health care service in his country. It's a good feeling to help when you can. I think though, you raised a bit more financially then I did.
That's a great story John, very thoughtful of you and extremely generous. BTW, how many caricatures did you end up doing?
@@SteveAtkinsonFineArt Not a lot, only thirty.
@@johncollado1151 😳THIRTY??? 👏👏👏
@@SteveAtkinsonFineArt Too many, not enough?
@@johncollado1151 That sounds like a lot to me! Good on you!
This is great. With all the election crap and other political crap going on we sometimes forget about the true heroes.
Edit: I do not even use oil paints...but yes, show us how you make those panels.
Thanks PortableXombie, I think most of us give that sentiment two big thumbs up. We've had it up to here with the politics already!
SIR. ATKINSON YOU ARE A MASTER PAINTER. I SAW YOUR REALISTIC PAINTINGS. THEY ARE MORE THAN A COLOUR PHOTOGRAPH. THEY ARE SO REALISTIC THAT I FEEL I AM THERE . GOD BLESSED YOU WITH GREAT TALENT. ..anilkumar..INDIA.
@@anilkumartanikella7471 What a kind thing to say Anilkumar. Thank you for your comment, you made my day... happy painting!
