No it wouldn't, the only way it will tear it up is if the the duct work is very old. If its not in bad condition this works perfectly on those as well!
Advanta of Raleigh just did mine and I have flex duct, no problems. They also did a good job of mold remediation and crawlspace encapsulation and wall insulation. Good job at a fair price, I'm happy with their work.
Maybe one day, future humans will finally create self cleaning ducts. Or, ducts that are actually easy to manually clean. Or hell, I would settle for throw away duct "liners" and just pull them out and insert new ones. Really, is this the best human can do? Snaking in spinning floppy tubes to bang around and calling that "clean". Yuk.
I would agree. That thing would be clogged up in moments. It would need to be emptied several times with a system like this. A truck mount can get that job done much more quickly and with less hassle than trying to haul that bulky thing everywhere. Electric portables and negative air machines like this are mainly good for inaccessible areas you can’t get to with truck mounts, or for assisting a truck mount when cleaning larger homes.
I do not agree with you Mr Karma, remember you should have tools for each kind of job period!!!! For example, any small job with that portable machine does a great job, they should in addition use a brush designed for that kind of duct Now I ask you how are you going to use a truck mount on a toll building in NYC? Mission impossible right.
@@portescity2299 This guy geys it. Our negative air machine pulls 5000+ cfm... Compressed air can do a great job on some, but can leave streaks. The vaccuum isnt as important as the agitators. We use compressed air and brush systems,(we have 3 brush systems and 4 compressed air agitators for different situations and different substances ie drywall dust). Plus beyond the logistics of apartment buildings and packed city streets, the cost, and the fact that a 12inch tube has to run through someones door and let heat and humidity in are all factors. The OP can take his snobby attitude and shove somewhere tight.
Also to the OP I watched your videos and NOTHING you have done is anything special. Our NAM does just as much as your truck mount, and our agitation tools make what you are doing look like amatuer DIY shit.
Beautiful work guys!
Why don't ventilation installers build in removable service ports to clean the ducting system in the first place?
Exactly, like a plumbing cleanout access ports.
Congratulations on the service provided

I wish they used metal duct work in Florida. They install the flexible tubing and if you uses this method it would tear up the inside.

Anyone have technition number I need this service?
Brushless brush for duct sealer! Wow, they only cost .50 cents
what if someone climbs in duct to look in yourbedroom

Most ducts in homes are too small for someone to get in. Don't be nervous.
Overkill on the tape
