Damn! I was thinking the same thing. Though I'm not fortunate enough to live nearby those beautiful areas like Spiti, I was thinking of camping on rugged forts around me.
So awesome! I live near the southern end of the AT but I go out by myself all the time because I got tired waiting for other people's schedules. Also when you go alone you get to do exactly what you want at all times, which I consider to be a 'luxury item'.
LITTLE BUDDY! he is just so happy to be out with you and his high strung pace won't last many more years. I hope he is not too much on you because I really enjoy seeing him get to unwind while exploring. I also prefer you having him over solo, he's an extra pair of eyes and an extra double pair of ears which makes him your alarm if something is happening. Another great video as usual...thanks Joe and Trip
Sorry, I disagree. I love dogs but find this one just too distracting and annoying. I see the dog, and I wait for a solo video. No disrespect to Joe or his dog.
Same! I love Tripper! He is so entertaining and SO like my own crazy shepherd. I promise he will start to calm down a bit soon. They are so driven and energetic and explosive but it does get better. And he loves you so much 🥰
Super nice overnight camp out. Huge steak dinner and a good wake-up breakfast. All alone in the woods just a man and his best friend. . It's as good as good can get.
I am living vicariously through these videos, Joe. Watching you do the things I used to do and love, but am no longer able to. Thanks Joe and thanks to Tripper for providing the comic relief. Keep up the good work.
I'm so proud of you giuys hanging in with Tripper. Many others of less character would have rehomed him when he started demonstrating his breed characteristics. Bravo to you guys and especially Tripper. Would a good dog. You've done an amazing job training him. Not all dogs are Golden Retrievers. I'm a Doberman person and they aren't for everyone either, but they sure are for me.
Tripper is the absolute definition of a working dog! Requires work and exercise constantly. Love seeing these videos! He's a happy guy. Yes, he has a tremendous amount of energy, but he is young, and he isn't yours! Stop judging. He is a well, cared for dog. Thanks, Joe and family. My husband and I like your videos very much.
Joe. In case of rain, always dig a sump around the perimeter of your tent, and then a drainage channel downhill and away from the tent, so the water rolls away from your cover and sleep system. This has been taught for 100 years, and I think you have touched on it too. I learned it from my father in the early 1970s. But great thing to emphasize.
You have great videos. I have been watching you for a while. 💘 Tripper is the best buddy to take along with you . Thanks for letting us enjoy this with you .
The extra tension cord within the top section is actually for using the tent without the centre pole holding it up. You can rig it up amoungst close proximity trees allowing more space within without the pole
hey man, i’m 17 and from a large city and i just wanna say you inspired me to love the outdoors so much more, my attention span is rlly arse but i’m able to watch your whole videos and i love the long full videos, it shows that there are still real people out there who aren’t in it for the money, and just wanna upload an hour video and show people what they do in their spare time love from New Zealand mate
I started feeding my interest in this with Joe, and sometime his family. I’ve watched a few others over the last few years, but the way Joe builds from whatever is around him is genius. I must admit, though, there aren’t as many “Bam, son” moments as there used to be. If you only have time for one channel, this is the one.
Tripper and my boy are both talkative. Brought a huge smile to my face when you talked back to him Joe. I do the same thing when my dogs gets talkative.
Joe! My best friend's Dutch Shepherd acted just like Tripper all the way until he passed away at age 13. Always lots of fun, but never a mellow moment.
Keep up the good work love you and tripper. Tripper is no scout but he is a great dog like scout your the first person who got me in to bushcraft thank you joe by the way love the hot tent
I have laughed so hard today at Tripper. He's like a little kid that wants more attention. The more you ignore him the more fantastic the things they do! I love your patience with him. He still has a lot of puppy in him so don't even worry about it. He'll get better with age.
Another very well done video. Extremely impressive camp site with the innovative gear. Almost surreal. Hard to imagine how everything came totally together, especially with the dried Maple ,the stone fireplace, along with the lake view.
Yep that is why you should always research before getting a breed of dog. It makes me mad when people go and get dogs because they look cute and then the dog ends up not being a proper fit for their lifestyle. I have a German shorthaired pointer, and they are hunting dogs that never run out of energy. I take them mountain biking regularly as well as on long hikes. If you are someone who works a 9-5 and doesn't have time to do these things and you go and get a GSP, then it is unfair to the dog.
I have to say I love your videos with Tripper. He is hilarious. He really has a lot to say. He will calm down with time. I did see him at the end sitting and watching you quietly. Like you said, he knows....my rottie is pretty high energy too, but he is getting less insane with time...I know Tripper wouldn't be good in all camping scenarios, but the more exposure he has, the better he will be. I learn a lot from your videos. Thank you
Trippers such a great dog. Not gonna lie I was a little worried when you first got him cause he seemed like too much of a ball of energy but he definitely listens to you and just likes to play. he's awesome.
Joe your this video was fun to watch and I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment from Tripper. You do a great job with the video and your conversation. I can watch your videos and just get lost, relax and feel like I'm there. Keep doing what your doing.

LOL Tripper must have been on a tranquilizer due to his surgery last summer. I was amazed how crazy calm (for a puppy) he was during your family campout to Crown land.
Real happy to see TRIPPER! We had a dog that did the same thing with the fire, never could train him to stop. Guess he loved it, when she'd get cold or tired she'd go lay right next to it.
Im not a hot tent expert, but in other videos and images I have seen it looks like the skinny side (where tripper's bed was) is normally where the stove is placed with the stove opening facing the center of the tent. that maximizes space. I think that is what the bent pipes were for, to be able to have the stove under the skinny side and still have the pipe come out the center of the tent. I am actually getting ready to build my own flat pack stove and buy my first hot tent this winter so this video was at a perfect time for me! I would love to see more hot tent camping.

one elbow inside tent and one outside of tent. it will stabilize pipe as well as help prevent embers from flying out from pipe. once again joe, great video.
The double wall section goes right next to the oven box, it acts as a double AFTER burner, the unturned gasses get mixed with oxygen that is drawn up like a flu, and help the smoke to burn completely before leaving. FOR A CLEAN BURN

German made tschum soswa and russian made poshehonka tent stove. The point on the tip is to attach the tent to a tree or bi/tripod leaving the centre pole at home and get more space. The elbows are actually to be able to place the stove off-centre to have the highest space available for yourself. The pipe than runs quite parallel to the tent skin.
