Most women enjoy their 2nd trimester because the nastiest pregnancy symptoms starts to diminish at this point. This is mainly because the hormones in your body are starting to have some balance. It's like your body's way of telling you that it's getting used to being pregnant.

Your baby at this week is about the size of a pea pod. Your placenta at taking some amazing development at this week. It is growing and gearing up for the next few months of your pregnancy. Your placenta serves as protection for your baby. It also feeds the baby while it is inside your womb. Vitamins and nutrients coming from you will pass on the placenta and feed your little one.
Your baby's intestines are also developing well at this week. Bones and limbs are getting fine tuned at the moment, giving them the ability to move or swim around inside your belly.
Amazingly, your breasts are now starting to produce colostrums. This is the clear substance that your baby consumes once they latch on you 3 - 5 days after birth. It contains high amount of vitamins and nutrients that gives your baby everything it needs during his/her early days of life outside your womb.
