Attacking other faiths is not the problem, but the way he is doing it can be turned and used against him as Sameer said. From a Muslim perspective the problem must be, he is denying the Quran.
As a Christian I don't worry about it. My faith can stand up to criticism.
My questions for Sameer is, can you show me the scientific evidence of abiogenesis? As an atheist he must believe not only in evolution in general. If there is no Creator, he must believe inorganic matter magically rearranged itself into living organisms (abiogenesis). This denies fundamental laws of science.

Actually I know a lot of Muslims who accept human evolution. Most mainstream scholars still reject it, but there are a growing number of ordinary Muslims who accept it. Shabir Ally may well be moving further away from orthodox Islam but I think he realises many ordinary Muslims are moving away from classical views. He also made a video recently where he rejected the notion of eternal Hell. Again this puts him at odds with mainstream scholars but is probably closer to where many ordinary Muslims are moving towards.

The Bible has already answered Shabir Ali's question before he asked it. It's unfortunate that people who don't know the Bible think that they are smart when they ask such questions but they are not unfortunately. We have got your questions answered even before you ask them. Jesus Christ died for everyone assuming that there are creatures elsewhere. This is what the Bible says below:
      Colossians 1:19, 20:
19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Also, it's repeated in Revelation 5:13:
13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
So, whether things on earth or above the earth ( heaven), everything and everyone is covered. To all ex-muslim atheists,Abdulla Sameer, Apostate Prophet, Abdulla Gonda, Apostate Aladin, Harry Sultan, etc please don't miss it twice. You were born into Islam and you later grew up and discovered that it's a scam and left it but don't miss it a second time by becoming an atheist. THIS IS BECAUSE THE HISTORICITY OF JESUS CHRIST DESTROYS ATHEISM AND EVOLUTION. So, Atheism is equally false like Islam and you are missing it the second time which is not good. After all, do we reinterpret Plato or other ancient non religious texts in view of modern insights? For some reason it only ever seems to be biblical Koranic texts which cry out for reinterpretation, it’s because modern religiousists are hell bent upon showing and proving to others the primacy of their book.

@Jamal Ramadan As a Hindu, do I need to reinterpret things in light of present knowledge? Sometimes yes because it puts a different angle on things and we live in a different time, culture, society, language etc. But it's never a total rehash. Eg Jung spoke about the Archetypes of the self. Well if we look at the Devas and the Atman, it's pretty much saying the same thing in different words. Therefore it puts a new angle on things from a modern psychological aspect. However, Psychology was already quite highly developed in Hinduism as can be seen in the contents of sankhya and the very fact that Hindu texts are replete with psychological language. Consciousness, mind, ego, self, observer, observed, inference, deduction, science, analysis, investigation, superconsciousness etc are the subject matter of those texts. Therefore to use modern psychology to understand those Hindu concepts would be entirely relevant. Conversely neither Koran nor Bible mention such words and if a word like mind were found it is never within a psychological context. Therefore if a verse from those texts is retranslated as a psychological comment, it is only due to superimposition from one modern area of learning onto something that bears no relationship to the contextual contents of the book. In which case why bother doing it anyway? You are only spreading confusion. Allow the text to speak for and defend itself and to stand on its own truth and not that of others.

We are all here to learn. Christianity has two major faults... Thinking Jesus is Allāh and that you works are not necessary for salvation.
Shabir was merely trying to show that Christians are on the verge of arrogance in thinking we are the only loved by Allāh and besides Christians no one else is worthy of Allāh's love when it is clear that Allāh loves all who seek Him and strive hard in submission to His will.
And the argument Shabir brought up (although not the best argument) is to get Christians to realize there is a bigger plan for humanity and if Allāh willed He would have destroyed every single one of us and made a new creation submitting to His will. We are not that specail and we need to learn our place.
Christians seek to extinguish the Light of Allāh with their tongues...
And Shabir and many others like him are sons of God... We represent our Lord and we won't allow His name to be tarnished and His Glory to be shared by anyone.
Praise be to Allāh forever and ever for He alone is worthy of all worship.

Hmm, well now. First of all, in the Hebrew, the name Adam is not actually his name. He was called Adam because in our language we typically give proper names to certain individuals. Thus, Adam simply means man or mankind. That is all it means.
Secondly, biologist and geneticists do indeed say there was one man and one woman, that they call Genetic Adam and Eve. That does not, however, describe them as other than man and woman. We don't know what they looked like, but a lot of assumptions are made.
I believe those ancient writers were speaking about the whole of human history and not just one couple. For instance, the agrarian vs. domestication of animals did happen in that order. They went from hunter/gatherers to farmers and then to domestication of cattle, sheep and goats. As the agrarian culture became dominant, it did spread East, as the Bible says it did. "And Cain went eastward to the land of Nod" meaning wandering. So that actually did happen, farming culture went east from the Levant.
The stories the quran borrows from the Bible are not necessarily to be taken literally, it should be in the historical context. However, in the 7th century, people did believe in the literal interpretation and that is why nothing in the quran is revelation from allah nor given from allah because those were already written, studied and taught ideas long before mohammad. Islam cannot take credit for what was before mohammad, but in order to justify some false notion that mohammad must be a true prophet, then they make the claim that "how could mohammad know 1,400 years ago?" Which the answer to that is "How did the ancient Hebrews, Greeks, Indians, Romans, Persians, Egyptians and Chinese know thousands of years before that?"
See, when they reference the Bible in trying to interpret the quran, they are actually giving credence to the fact that the Bible came first, and the Bible taught these things. BUT, and here is a huge but, the Quran actually does not reference the Bible but very little, it references the Talmud. The Talmud is nothing more than legal rulings and opinions of rabbis. How do we know this?
Several hundred years before mohammad, the Talmud had written in the stories of Iblis (Satan) refusing to bow down to Adam, that Adam learned how to bury Cain from watching a raven, and the stories of Noah, Moses and the other prophets. All one has to do is look up the Talmud, Midrash and other rabbinical literature. It's there. So islam cannot be from allah nor from mohammad if the rabbis were already telling these things hundreds of years before.
Does that mean God does not exist? No. It means the progress of humanity went forward. And it is very logical that it would happen the way it did. The Bible is indeed correct in those things, but the Hebrews then were not focused on merely the religion of the ancients, only the history and how history led to the patriarchs to the modern Jews. And their own knowledge of the world and observations led them to that understanding.
Shabir Ally is indeed an atheist because he does not believe in allah, mohammad or the quran, otherwise he would not be desperately trying to find mohammad where mohammad is not at, he is trying to justify his culture and his culture's place in history.

Drawing figures of people is prohibited in Islam. Even 20-25 years ago, muslim schoolers were very enthusistics about this doctrine. They used to apply and preach about not taking photos of people, specially of women. Now the scenario has entirely changed and you would find mulla's of all sorts are uploading their photos on facebook and other social platforms. It is essential to update outdated beliefs so that the system can thrive. Like drawing photos, there are many such examples where muslims abandoned their old belief. Even the Talibans are claiming they will ensure women rights in islamic limit and Won't prohibit them to work outside of their home. Usually, muslims accepts these unrelegious things for two reasons, fisrt, they want to keep themselves updated with the changed time and to keep followers. In the case of this imam, he is trying the same, introducing new ideas in islam. And after 20 to 30 years, you Won't be able to say this relegion is outdated 😁,Let's abandone it. You will find yourself in difficult situation to criticise islam then 😀😀😀

Actually what he said isn't that nonsensical. In the Old Testament book of Genesis, it explains briefly that at some point God had made many other humans other than Adam & Eve. When Cain, a descendant of Adam, is heading into the world, he exclaims that he 'fears being killed by someone' meaning there would have been other humans already living even in a very primal state without much civilization. Christian and Muslim apologists really should lose this idea that God made only 2 humans and from them every single human on earth came from directly. Rather, from them, we can trace the Israelite lineage and many people are related to them, but not the entirety of the world. Which again is why the Genesis explains there were already other humans made across different regions by the time Adam's sons were adults.

Actually if we were in the center of the universe it would seem more evident or at least used that way, that the big bang with all its effects and laws brought about life in this one planet in the center of the universe. Now, knowing where we are (so to speak...), it seems more likely that we were chosen by a Creator that fine tuned everything that needed to have been fine tuned in order that we live, survive and prosper. Do think about it, before shooting yourself in the foot; it's a liitle deep, BUT IT'S A GREAT ANSWER.

So God eternally created universes. And that Islam is consistent with the view because there is only one God there doesn't need to be a specific place to accept this message. After I left I still believe in this concept.

An average galaxy like ours has about 200-300 million stars. There are likely 100-200 billion galaxies in our universe. Most stars have planets (massive stars don't) and some of those planets are solid like the Earth, some have atmosphere and some will be able to have life. How many planets are there? Well, if you just give 1 planet per star (our Sun has four solid planets, the outer four are made of gas so you can't walk on them...) in a galaxy, that gives you about 10^20 planets, or ~100,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets. Most won't have life of course, or intelligent life, but still, this puts into perspective how "unspecial" the Earth is (and, how many "final" prophets Allah needs...).

I remember reading a science report a few years ago pointing out we have an extremely unusual star even unusual for a G2 star. It's extremely stable star with very weak and stable solar flares compared to other G2 stars. Other G2 stars solar flares are too strong and would strip away the planet atmosphere. Also unlike what you see in Star Trek over 80% of solar systems have more than one star.
Put both we have very unusual stable G2 star and single star solar system makes us very unique. Also the star need to be at the right place in the galaxy as too close to the center is not good. Put it all together Earth is extremely special.

    • @theastronomer5800

@@smidlee7747 Hi there. You make important and correct points, I was just giving an idea to the rough number of planets. Ones that could host life would of course be much less, but still astronomically large!
About 80% of stars may be binary, so you can take 10% of the number I gave. Most stars are main sequence stars, but you can take another 10% for stars similar to ours, and then let's say 10% have low flare activity etc etc, you'll still end up with trillions or more of habitable planets.
Also, remember that our Earth would not be able to start life if it were to begin in ~4 billion years because it will be leaving the main sequence, but other stars like it will be born over that time. Also, if a civilization develops, in a few thousand years of being technologically advanced (we're only just over 100 years past that point!) it will likely live in space and colonize other planets in it's planetary systems. It's all very interesting and one can only guess how many other worlds are out there with life on them.
Either way, to think that some "god" made a silly revelation that talks about tribal issues of the 7th century Arabia and that's supposed to be some moral guidance for all mankind on a planet is simply ridiculous. The Quran says that the stars are missiles for the devils, that the Earth and heavens were separated (a well known Sumerian myth), it doesn't seem to understand that the Earth is round because in 2:187 it tells you when to fast but you can't use that verse everywhere on Earth and Muslims had to come up with man-made solutions to this problem, in a book from a god that is supposed to know everything! And, this god also allows Muslim soldiers to r a p e married women captured in battle (confirmed by sahih hadiths, tafsirs scholars and the Sharia manual). And so on. This ignorant god had very bad morality, allows slavery, and doesn't know basic science. Astronomy etc are MUCH more interesting to know and study than ancient religions. Cheers!
