I hope you also choose to react to the song Ulisse also from the same concert. It is a duet with Dimash and Aida. Dimash does take the final high note in that performance.
It's such a shame he's not better known in the UK. I think his crossover music would be really appreciated here. Hopefully that may change a little after his music video is premiered at the CPI film festival in London on Tuesday.
Yes shame people have not latched on to Dimash’s mind blowingly beautiful music and performances. He held a small scale concert in London in November 2018. It was amazing to be in the crowd. 🌹

This wonderful performance of the star trio, with whom Maestro Igor Krutoy has been working for many years, took place at a gala concert dedicated to his 65th birthday. Russian world and Olympic figure skating champions took part in the concert.
Dimash, Aida and Lara managed to meet for the first time, as everyone has a busy tour schedule around the world. In the morning, after their arrival in Moscow, only one rehearsal took place!! At this concert, the duo Aida Garifullina & Dimash performed another composition of the maestro - "Ulysses".
Aida Garifullina (born 30.09.1987, Kazan, Russia), soprano, soloist of the Mariinsky Opera Theater (St. Petersburg, Russia) and since 2014 soloist of the Vienna Opera (Austria). 🎶❤

Lara said during rehearsal, Aida cocked her head at Dimash and said, hey if I have to run out for something he can sing my part...and burst out laughing ! They came unglued and couldn't get it together ! Ok, we're ready one would look at the other and get hysterical. When Aida, blinking eyes looking everywhere but at Dimash, biting her lower lip trying not to laugh, choked a note through her nose, she, the crew, Dimash were on the floor, Igor was pounding on the piano lid laughing, wiping his eyes, croaking Lunch ! Break ! Great Still laughing, put on their coats, walked outside, looked at her watch and it was 9:3:0 am. The audience and I holding our sides. She's beautiful and can tell a funny story !

@@geminitwin1160 I knew someone would ask and racked my brain, almost didn't tell it but it's too wonderful not too. It wasn't American tv. England, or France most likely and she's Belgian so my guess is France. Just laughed, Probably Canadian with my memory. I've seen her a bunch, one hilarious birthday video to him that had me on the floor again. It wasn't Quazakstan I don't believe. I grew up there so I've seen a lot of him over the years, great videos, stories stick in my mind, when, where ? Saw him when he was 16 on state tv singing in a video with a drummer and guitar player and my Dad called him rock n roll boy forever to tease my sister and I. That kind of thing. I'm sorry. Patty. Back. Her imitating Aida blinking, looking everywhere, biting her lip and trying not to look at him and sing, was one of the funniest things I've seen !
Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event:
• Igor is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with and the songs he has composed
• This is not the first time that Lara sings this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with”
• This also explains why the song does not exposes more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitri who was a pure baryton.
• Lara was very very sick that day, with fever and strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable
• Also, like Dimash, and even if the song was composed that way with her in mind, Lara does not sing in her real « comfort zone »: she is, as Aida, a lyrical soprano but here she plays the role in the trio of a mezzo-soprano and takes the median register. It requires a lot of voice control to not interfere with Aida’s high note and does not allow her to really shine. She gives room to Aida to do it instead and Aida uses this magnificently.
• It was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara (he is a fan since he is a child and he covered several of her songs such as Adagio, Love of Tired Swans, Mademoiselle Hyde, Know, …): look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it …
• Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it is her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 5 years in sicilia before returning there. She also is married to a sicilian man
• Look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara
• Also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling: Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀
• I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons on a daily basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers.
• Final note to say that Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics of the song Your Love for Dimash

I knew she is solist in Vienna Opera but I am not an opera fan.
Just like you I admire and respect Igor's talent. He's simply amazing. And if a man with a such talent and experience gave up of his retirement is because he knows Dimash's great talent. The lady in white is Aida Garifullina, *1987, a Tatar from Russia, world-famous opera star and Prima Donna at the Vienna Opera (Austria).
The lady in black is Lara Fabian (*1970), also a world-famous singer, songwriter from Belgium and a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child, Dimash wished to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and here the dream came true.
This event took place on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoi (composer at the piano) in 2019. Can there be a nicer birthday?
* Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). He lives and works in Moscow/ Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.
Krutoy wrote of what working with Dimash meant to him: “How lucky it is to be doing what you love to do, writing for such a brilliantly feeling singer, evoking deep emotion in the audience and being in demand'.
So far, Igor has composed several songs for Dimash and many songs in 30 years for Lara Fabian and other singers. Most of the songs in this concert were by him.

Aida is singing at the Vienna Opera and her origin is Tatar - now she has the austrian Citizenship since a few years. She is one of the best Opera singer. At the rehearsal of this birthday party for Igor she was joking with Dimash: Oh I have something to do I have to leave - but I think you can also sing my part 😂
