Role of Hex is a real-time strategy game where you defend your hexagonal base from the dangers of the universe. Gather upgrades and unlock special buildings to survive this terribly hostile land as endless waves of enemies approach. But be quick, time is ticking and the waves are getting bigger.

Oof, that was a stroke of bad luck, termites only spawn in the desert and there was a desert just the other side of that river D:
But the game certainly has to tell you if the enemies you are hunting are biome-specific, I'll put that in today's hotfix
Update: Hotfix is already out! It now shows a notification with additional information if no significant progress has been made in 5 minutes
The reason you didnt kill any termites is they only spawn in the desert

The game has biomes, and some enemies only spawn in certain biomes. that mission the main biome nearby was swamp (so you have the exploding slugs). You can hover over enemies while holding alt (is a bit janky sometimes) to see their stats
why would it generate an unwinnable mission then
You can build away from the starting point so it's not unwinnable. The mission description should be more informative though.
@@sillyness1990It took me so long to figure this out on my own when I played...
for this game you need to be aggressive on expansion, plus shield build can be really strong.
but by far my favourite build is nuke + suspicious coolant for unlimited nukes!

Although to be fair, Role of Hex basically just released, so it makes sense barely anyone is mentioning it
Be careful with building too much into Vortex and slow. I've crashed my game with it xD
Also you can sell the tiles that Growth creates, since more tiles built on means more build cost.
I thought there was an update that made it so auto build tiles did not count towards build cost.
@@meh1977you are right on this one, tiles that don't have anything on top of them do not contribute toward build cost, even if you build them manually
@@verde4337 Oh, well color me surprised! Been a minute since I played so I didn't know this.
You just need as much damage as you can possibly get and get it to the enemy as quickly as possible.
Just build and select whatever you need to accomplish that.
This feels like the rougelite open world tower defense game you were talking about in Polycore Defense :D

The music is amazing in this game. Does anyone have name of songs or artists? Or even similar music recommendations.
You have no idea of how happy comments like this make me feel. I've developed the soundtrack for RoH and you've just gave me the boost i needed to re-create my channel and social accounts just for music projects. By tomorrow i should have all Role of Hex soundtrack on my profile and maybe Heliotropism too.
On the subject of similar music, most of what i make mix more than one genre, but some of my inspirations are: Minecraft soundtrack, neoclassical guitar/metal, Beat-oriented stuff (pop, rap and EDM subgenres) and darkwave (basically cyberpunk music).
That last mission was BS but im glad to see the game on the channel again.

I don't normally leave comments. But the fact that termites are found in wood. And you know that there's destroyable trees in this game. I'm surprised that you didn't think that You probably need to find trees to find termites
Except they are actually a desert exclusive mob apparently :D
Though it's definitely on the game giving no explanation and also spawning the player not anywhere close to the right location
