- Two first-half goals condemned us to defeat in the second match of our U.S. Tour.
In the first-ever meeting between the teams on American soil, 82,262 supporters were inside the MetLife Stadium, but we failed to get going after Manchester United opened the scoring through Bruno Fernandes' long-range strike on the half-hour. Jadon Sancho doubled the lead soon afterwards and although Eddie Nketiah came close in the second-half, we tasted defeat for the first-time this close season.

Transition is never Arsenal’s weakness, man. Today was just a game to forget. Havertz needs to improve in the number 8 position, though I doubt he will. I don’t see him as ideal number 8.
Arsenal weakness is individual error
Arteta has brought us here & raised our expectations, our aspiration is again a title challenge this season. This game is a spammer in that aspiration not because we lost to United who are in an early phase of their come back as a title challenging team, but, our weaknesses of last season in big games being repeated.. where is the learning from big games? Individual mistakes, weakness against high balls (even City at Emirates played high balls), seasoned players not coming good (e.g. Nkeitah, who relieves Jesus if he is injured, Nkeitah is hit & miss, had high hopes, but not improving), Midfield with Havertz is concerning as is Fabio Viera. As soon as Partey came in, then we looked more composed in the middle, it needs to be a starting midfield of Partey, Rice & Odegard. Lisandro was doing lots of tactical fouls outside the box, in the middle to kill of our transitions and got away with it, what was Gabriel, Tomi & Timber doing in this regard? We need to see a response on Wednesday.

Long balls is always a counter to high pressing football. Saliba Gabriel n Blanco usually deals good with them. Its ok to make mistakes like thease in pre season friendly games. Gabriel very rarely does mistake which led to Sancho goal like that. Havertz shouldve get to Bruno skin there, not to stop running and give space for a shooter like Bruno, but that was also Ramsdale's mistake the ball went to net. Good minutes for both teams. I think they both in a title race next season
I remember when Man United also suffered from that same issue under LVG and it continues with OGS, Man United defenders could not just clear long crosses inside their 18 yard box.

Havertz is not someone who will do the dirty work. Man Utd also played with two AMCs (Bruno and Mount) but they do more work than Havertz. He's that guy who needs to play behind the striker and has freedom to show his talent.

Hopefully, this will be a serious wake-up call to everybody related to Arsenal, most of all to Mikel and Edu, to keep building and investing in the squad, we desperately need a clinical number 9 striker and a quality midfielder, the prem and champions league will be tough, we still need quality players on top of the ones we have, and also, unfortunately, we need to sell some of them.
The new CF doesn't have to be clinical, but he should be able to handle the opposition's CBs, as Haaland did to stop the opponents and let his teammates score

No need to be too depressed - Arsenal lost the charity shield to United in preseason 03/04 before winning the league. Fair play to Man United though they looked strong. The point of preseason is to learn. United gave us some valuable insights and lessons.

Every coach that has been at Arsenal since Arsene Wenger always used Xhaka. It shows how important of a player he was for the team. It will be hard replacing and replicating the excellent campaign he had last season.

We always look so poor defensively against counter attacking sides, which is concerning. Also, I hope Arteta has already seen enough of Havertz in the 8 position, to know that it isn't going to work, at all. I feel like 65mil could've gone on a much, much better player.
I think we would have been much better bidding for savic than having havertz for mildfield. But i will give havertz some time and then judge afterwards.

Havertz played decently in Xhaka's position. We couldn't break Man United's defense because our hold-up play was non-existent and they scored because of Ramsdale's/ Magalhaes' mistakes

It’s preseason so not too concerned with the result from two big errors. Only concern is how vulnerable we looked to long balls, the rest can be sorted with a few tweaks.

As a United fan, I’m shocked. Definitely agree with most of the comments here, transition play was incredible from UTD, score definitely would’ve been the other way around in the Prem I think, but we’ll see if I’m right when it comes to it, both teams look strong for the season ahead. Have a look at the first 5 mins of Goldbridges watch along and even he says Arsenal will beat us 3-1, and it turned out to be a surprising score line. We played well where as Arsenal “thought “meh preseason noone cares about it, it doesn’t matter

If Mart scored, Gab and Ramsdale did what they were suppose to do in their respective position, 4-2 will not be the outcome.
We are blaming the new signings because of all the hypes that surrounded them. They gave us the expectation that we will be world class going into the season. However, we don't need to blame them complete for this defeat.
Ramsdale ball distribution was very terrible. He could have saved the goal by Bruno. Haaland will not miss the chances Mart missed. And the mistake by Gabby, that's terrible performance from someone like him.
We should not be too hard on the new signings yet. Let's allow them to find the rhythm.
Well, I agree Arteta made poor selections during the game. However, I don't think he 'got found out.' For me, I think he was running an experiment to see what combination will be the best for the coming season. If Man United can win us home and away come this season, then you can say that. Drawing such conclusion based on a pre-season match is not logical.

We were just not good enough, we played better in the second half. People should know that preseason games are for testing new systems and getting match fitness, we signed new players, the coach is trying to find beat possible positions and systems to fit them in. The gaffer have learned a lot from the game, n the players got the needed minutes.

Don’t think so. They have Rice and Partey for more controller types with physicality. Xhaka wasn’t a nimble lightweight midfielder. In time Vieira, Havertz should play that attacking midfield role to a better standard.

I think we brought rice not to replace partey as a 6. Arteta just want to experiment for haverts in midfield. Rice should play in xhaka role.

The Arsenal performance was dreadful. The hot weather definitely played a major role, but Manchester United outperformed them and completely dominated the game. It appears that the ManU coach may have figured out how to play against Arsenal, which is concerning considering the significant amount of money spent to improve the team. Even though it was just a friendly match, these games often reflect the team's potential performance in the EPL. Remember last season's friendly against Chelsea in the USA, where Arsenal's impressive play generated a lot of buzz? This time, it seems Arteta needs to take some extra measures to motivate the team, including the 105 million-pound signing, who hasn't made much impact in the two games played so far.
