- One of the highlights of Miss World we present the Dances of the World!
Dressed in national costume, the contestants celebrate the huge variety of cultures on display at Miss World by participating in a specially choreographed section of the show focusing on a selection of contestants national dances!
I love how you can immediately tell who the American is because of the red white and blue cowboy fit
For India it could have been so so better. The girl was beautiful, the song amazing, costume was on point. But her steps were just too timid and her enthusiasm just lacking. The cheers when India stepped up was just amazing.
I know right! She looked like goddess durga. She should have been more energetic and powerful.

You're right about the enthusiasm part, but these girls are not professional dancers either and probs had very little time to rehearse and that, I'm sure she tried her best :)
@Anjali Singh I could sure judge! I dance Bollywood myself, I danced Dola Re Dola in one of my first performances. I wore a Saree, painted my hands and feet red, and it was full on Bollywood. This rendition of Dola Re Dola was too calm even compared to the film performance. Bollywood is supposed to be danced with energy and enthusiasm, and you don't need to be a professional dancer to have any of those.
Besides, they know when they're entering the competition that they're going to have to dance, and if you're doing it to represent your country, it should at least be done right.
Duh, these girls are not professional, so shut up, im bolivian and the first girl made a lot of mistakes but im not talking sh*t about her performance and I know how to dance tobas

The song itself is actually named after the artist, it wasn't the track titled Mongol 😅. Basically it's: Khusugtun - Khusugtun.

por que lo unico de su perfomance? Tobas era un pueblo indigena que se extendio hasta la amazonia en sus tiempos donde hicieron corroer a los incas de ahi el baile, ya que cuando los incas se hicieron patear el culo un grupo volvio y vio a los Tobas bailando de esa manera alrededor de una fogata de ahi viene el Baile

Well, I feel very sad about cultural issues nowadays. I watched all the Miss World - Dances Of The World videos and I was looking forward to watch 2014's one, but I got disappointed when I came and saw it. Bolivia's song is alright (they always show at least one Latin America's indigenous song each year) but we can see the same cultural appropriation as in past editions of Miss World: the woman dancing is white and blue-eyed. Why not an indian girl? Canada and Chile also showed indigenous people's dances and the girls dancing were NOT indians.
There are about 200 countries in the world so there's no reason to show the same country more than once. Definitely! Mongolia and Scotland have appeared in two editions of the show and I've counted three indian presentations until now (although they are not even similar; I'm sure indian is a very culturally rich country). I mean, they never show more than one African country and the only South Asian dance I saw here was Indonesian.
And, of course... the US dance. Actually I'm surprised about how long they waited to show one because the US runs cultural issues in 21th century globalised world. But, if the reason of the show is to expose different cultures, they broke it: everybody knows country music and dancing.

The beauty standard is light skin, thick eyebrows and light brown/grey contacts. No she's not white. She's genetically indian. Her name is Koyal Rana which is an indian name.
