As me being a cello player please never ever ever play your instrument or put your bow on the finger board because when you do that you’re gonna get rosin all over your hands. And you probably don’t know what I am saying but the Rison is the sticky thing so you’ll never ever ever do that I am in the orchestra for like about 10 years now I started playing shallow when I was about 10
1. The bridge (wooden piece) makes the sound so put that in the middle of the fingerboard (black long board) and the fine tuners (little knobs at the bottom used for minor tuning the strings!) underneath the strings. 2 Make sure to tighten your bow but only tighten it enough to not make it arched. Tighten it enough to be straight with an arch downward just a teeny bit and then apply rosin on the horse hairs. Make sure to untighten the bow by turning the silver thing at the end about 6 or 7 times when you are *finished playing* . Make sure to apply rosin whenever you play so you aren’t scratchy and you can make a sound. 3 If you don’t know what a tuned cello sounds like, get a tuner app to help you tune! It will show you if the string is tightened too much or not. *do not use the black pegs on the scroll* UNLESS you need to tune a lot. Use fine tuners to tighten and untighten slightly. If you run out of space to turn, you might’ve wanted to use the pegs. 4 This part really bothered me- do not play on the fingerboard. I repeat don’t play on the fingerboard. Your bow is supposed to be in the middle of the fingerboard and bridge. Also learn the cello *bow hold!* so you can play properly and also, just play. 5 Be very careful with those pegs. They snap strings very easily. If you are having trouble tuning, *go to a music shop* or download a tuning app. 6 You have a very cheap cello which isn’t a long term cello and doesn’t have the best sound but is playable. Be very careful with it and use it till it’s broken or you decide to pursue something with it! BTW the strings go CGDA (C lowest/thickest, A highest/thinnest) 6 At the end, there was that long stick with the twisty thingy at the end and that is called an endpin. You use that to adjust the cello to your height. The scroll should never be above your head. 7. Don’t be nervous to go a music store and get help. If you break a hair on your bow, just take it off- no big deal. Some things I wanted to say to get you started if you want to play the cello ❤️
Omg that cello is waaaayyyyy to small for you. Looks like a 1/4 size. I recommend getting sized at a local luthier before buying one. You'd probably need a full size or can get away with a 3/4. To make the instrument sound good, proper posture and bow hold is key.
Chrystal Christie A Solid Body Electric Cello is easier to setup, the bridge sits on the pickup, the rosin goes on the bow, hook it up to your amp, & you're ready to rock.
lol ok so I am not the only person who impulsively bought this cello! And have had to google it etc..to put it together and thought "what have I done" I have had a luthier (is that how you say it?) tune it and he said it sounds really good and I bought a nice new bow so I am planning to make the best of it. The paint is slapped on it and a few build issues but it sounds nice so when my new bow gets here I hope to hear it.
I literally did everything that you did.bought a cello without knowing anything about them for about £200, took hours to make a sound and broke a C string so had to use 3 strings for a week
Everything is wrong.....
....for real.

that the wrong size cello it should be 4/4 side for adult
Did you stick with it or no? Most first instruments are crappy and just meant to learn on
5:01 that's the ROSIN!
1:56 it’s supposed to be that way
All string Instruments have that “ birth mark” and they did not forget to paint there lol
Thats so strange and cool, thanks for telling me!
1 year later 😆

I'm thinking about getting a cello for Christmas next year. Hopefully, mine won't be shitty or too small for me.

Hahaha I recently started learning the cello and felt the same way lol Love this video
Damn it's rare for a cello string to pop
The string you broke is a d string.
Just stop! Go to a cellist repairer and make the cello awesome!
I have a 3 string violin my peg broke instead of the string...
