What i always do when i'm repairing laptops, checking the fan(s) and clean them, and when it's an old laptop, checking the thermalpaste of the cpu and gpu, just as an extra service.
I did exactly the same repair as the first one (Dell Inspiron) and actually, you can hollow out the case with a Dremel to fit the power connector, you don't need to file it down.
Sorin! I repaired the same HP laptop (minute 14 and up) with the exact same fault. Left hinge, broken on the screen side but also on the laptop side. This was an annoying job. I also used the hotglue sandwich method (i have learnt this from you, so thank you!).
I also had the exact same laptop about a year ago with this problem. HP 250 G6 or something. Such a nightmare trying to fix the left hinge with all the cables in the way. I attempted to fix it using epoxy (like I usually would) but it turned into a bit of a nightmare, so I ended up just replacing the top lid in the end 😂
on acer laptops, first ive use super glue on the screw holes to secure the screw threads on the plastic then use hot glue to make a definite contact and firm it will not bend or remove overtime.
Sorin, how do you like your cordless screwdriver, Miniware ES15? I just bought one and man do I love it. I saw your review of it and you were tickled to death with it. Thank you for all you do!
I put penetrating oil on the hinges to loosen a little bit. The biggest problem why the hinges dislodge is it is becomming too tight a s time pass by, maybe corrosion or dust accumulation. I cloned your technique using hot glue. Softening the hinges first prevents premature returning of the units. Take care always Sorin.
Hi. Love your videos, can you give me name and model of the electronic screwdriver you are using there, i love that you can increase torque by simply turning the screwdriver more. I want to pick one up please and thank you
I very hate yhis HP with covered hinges... usually i unscrew the 2 bolt o the covered hinges to make them moving better... and after i place 2 new screws on the bottom side with bolts outside the laptop... on the screen side usually I fill with black hotglue ( i think the black one is more robust that the transparent)
Because it is gonna be another 60 plus battery which is equal new laptop (including charging port replacement) 😁 Personally bought better spec laptop than this dell for £130 last. You have an answer
If people lifted their screens from the middle (rather than one side) you wouldn't have any broken hinges to fix. The hot glue manufactures would go out of business, Haha! (just kidding). The lack of basic physics cost some people a lot of money over their lifetime, because they keep breaking their stuff.
I love long videos like this, so relaxing
Thank you sorin,hello from turkey
Great video 👍 the seller is off on holiday spending your money 💰 🤣
With all the great equipment you have , I figured you would own a hot glue gun . LOL . I enjoy your videos immensely.
Great Job Sorin. I'm learning a lot from you
Good stuff Sorin🎉

Thanks for sharing, I’ve learnt a lot from your videos 🙏🏾

Same here, same laptop, same crappy hinges.

Same here but I used graphite powder and adhesive bcoz low space for hot glue.
This hp laptop is very cheap
I had repaired same Hinge problem by inserting two screws from back of screen cover. Used hot glue as spacer...LOL
Like 👍🏻 this video love a Lott working flow

Take care always Sorin.
No. It’s where oil can loosen the hinge too much over time!
The it is good, customer will come back later.@@GROGGALORE

excellent videos, so, where can I get the Hot Glue? any recommendation about it?
Well done.
You are a genius 🙂
Long list of good jobs :)
would be interesting to see what your Batteriy tester would say to this swollen one. Enjoyied every minute of that recording
It would say that the cells have a high resistance and detect it as "bad cells".
Vlad Milas It would say, "do you have fire insurance?" The 1860s are safer than the flat cells when shit hits the fan.
Good Work.!
it looks like the last repair with a broken power socket. Regarding the snow - it was also snowing in my part of europe 3-4 days ago :)
What Screwdriver you use? Thank you!
Sorin you should try a 3D pen for hinch fixing
Τhe longer the videos the better for us, students.

For the thin display plastics around the display i use a double sided tape (type) and it works like charm. :)
Hihihih double side tape .. :)

💪 Hot power of glue 💪😁😁
Hi Sorin
SR40B are a pain in the a..!!! Today ive got 2 with these PCH blown up...
Do you no longer work back at the shop?
Saves another laptop (2nd one) from being tossed on the scrap heap.
can we replace chipset with hot gun, i saw most people use laser machine
You should sell T-shirts that says "Perfect" 😃
Or “dodgy job’.
‘Let’s come with the power’
Don’t put back the old charger port, unless you structurally (proper) fixed it 😅
YEEAAAAHHH
hi i have a laptop the battery is biuld in how can i tackle this project
Whers your hotmelt gun Sorin ? LOL
The swallowed batteries sometimes make the touchpad button (there is only one) not working properly :(
👍
wohooooo lets goooooooooooo
Q. Why did he not replace the bloated battery on the first laptop?
Because it is gonna be another 60 plus battery which is equal new laptop (including charging port replacement) 😁
Personally bought better spec laptop than this dell for £130 last.
You have an answer
Hot glue is bungle
I find two part epoxy works better. It takes a lot longer to set though, and you only usually have one attempt to get it right.
yeah same , fixing rubbish :(
😂😅😅 Wow Dodge Charging Cable...
I Know Won't Put That...
It Will Be Great Helpfull To You Testing Purpose...
I thought two antennas were hosting 2.5G and 5G
They are used for mimo communication also (one for receiving and the other for transmitting)
no soldering job this time😂😂😂, so rare this days that charging port does not need soldering
How much is that first DELL laptop worth. £100?
£60 for charging port replacement. Seriously? 😂

I-am dat lipiciul pe nas
That HP with the broken hinge and broken mouse button is the weakest most brittle plastic ever used on a laptop. Its complete garbage.
60 pound for charging port? Customers so dumb in UK?
