I remember stumbling across this video while studying my heritage. It was a dark time in my life. I had lost everything. I was essentially homeless. I believed in nothing. I had a friends son recently die in our house, his name was Jessie Levi, only 38 years young and I played this song for him on a baby monitor we had in another room. I love this song, and Nahko Bear is a amazing man. I thank you for this song, I think it helped Jessie cross over. Amen

Almost 10 years ago this version of Great Spirit first hit me right in the heart and it's now more poigniant than ever before in these times of mistrust. I swear this song opens up a channel in me every time I hear it and every emotion I have ever felt rushes to the surface. I feel that connection and that power that comes from something far greater than us, I feel that sorrow and pain for the past and what coud have been had we chosen a different path, but I also feel incredible unity, hope and love for the future if we stay true to the message and embrace all life, not just our own.
