This song feels so nostalgic in the best way possible I wanna cry. I don’t know if it’s just caused I recently watched the Danny Phantom review. But I picture Ember singing this song to her son for some reason. And it’s the song I play while I’m writing my DP fanfiction where she actually has a half ghost son. 😂
Singing is behind the beat in a jarring way considering the quantized nature of the backing, and is in such an octave that it feels buried in relation to the backing. If the vocals were sang an octave up and locked-in with the rhythm, this would've been an earth-shattering performance. As such, it is sonically pleasing, but begs to be more.
To expand upon this point: either the vocals up an octave up or perhaps the song transposed by a whole step or minor third, as to better suit your register.
