  • You often hear us emphasize shot placement on turkeys with a bow: 'shoot them in the shiny spot.' It's effectively lethal and ensures an easy recovery of your turkey. However, one question we get asked a lot is, where should you aim if the turkey is not in a full strut?
In this video, we provide an excellent breakdown of lethal shots you can make on a non-strutting turkey with a bow, ensuring a successful recovery of the bird. We cover broadside non-strutting shots, frontal shots, and where to put your arrow if the turkey is facing away from you. With turkey season quickly approaching, we wanted to equip you with the best tips possible to make your turkey season a success!

Thanks David! Great info here, one day I’ll smoke one with my bow, will definitely be using your advice, all of it makes complete sense and to me is more ethical than a vital shot.

I've had great results with hitting them from behind. Plus a little benefit is they aren't looking straight at me. I hunt from brush blinds almost exclusively. I like the from behind shot when I'm in a tree stand. I use the Slick Trick standard and have a lot of complete pass thru hits. 👍👍

You are dead on with your video. Thank you for talking about a frontal shot to the waddle. It is a very ease aiming point that does the job.

We have seen the frontal shot work a handful of times over the last few season, it can be a very effective shot!
