I lived with Macular Degeneration for 10 years. Ran in my family. My grandmother was blind, my mother was blind. I'm in my 60s and my vision is back about 85-90%. I have lived with fear of blindness my whole life.
I live with a lot of gratitude, now. I try to keep the fear of its return at bay. Funny to see my face again after 10 years or so. It's lke a stranger in the mirror. This hit very close to home.

I never knew it was possible to regain eyesight after loosing it (I understand it wasn't completely) but still that is fascinating to me. I too have a fear of loosing my eyesight, although one might call it an irrational fear because there is no history in my family, etc. It's just that my eyesight seems to get worse every year and I don't ever see it stabilizing I'm -6 something in both eyes...

thank you...my son is blind...its nearly impossible to convey what he experiences....the lack of connection; the complete absence of "a place to land, to cease soaring endlessly in a black infinite nightsky"...this is eloquent and honest .

I was very fortunate to know him as a master, teacher, colleague and friend. He was and remains the most unusual person and the most unforgettable personality of my life.
It was a great pleasure to experience his teaching, lectures and theories.

It is an amazing project and we loved working on it. My son is in the first scene on the ferry and also on the beach in the water.

Very touching film. Makes me wonder what it would have been like if Beethoven had made a similar video concerning losing his hearing.

3 things. First, why was he wearing glasses when he was completely blind?
Second, I wonder how they shot the awesome scene where it rained inside the house. Did they use a professional studio set?
Third, this was a powerful short film. Really powerful.

What's up with hating on hipsters still ? Shits old already , and weak . Just because you feel inadequate is no reason to hate someone else . People that judge others usually do so because they have very low self esteem , and sign on to the mob mentality of berating someone else , usually so no one takes notice of them and makes fun of them . Then again some people are just pathetic and small minded , and feel the overwhelming need to force their insecurities on others to feel better .

Being blind doesn't mean seeing "all black". 90% of blind people have some vision. A lot of blind people
      wear glasses.

This was great, but what's up with all these non-linear shorts being accepted in Sundance? I'm only on the third short from the playlist, but I haven't seen a linear story yet. The guying digging in the backyard was close, but the ending was left open to so much interpretation... What ever happened to good old fashion story telling?
Again, I appreciate films like these, but mostly when I'm in the avant garde mood.
But I'll keep going. They're interesting despite the confusion.
