    sir there is a line given in NCERT : when we connect one end of a copper wire to a neutral pith ball and the other end to a negatively charged plastic rod, the pith ball acquires a negative charge. But how can it be possible for we know that the free electrons in plastic rod are immobile and thus cannot be transferred to copper wire and the pith ball? or is it the case of induction?

      no it is not induction. -ve charged plastic rod means it is charged like by rubbing. so electrons on it are from outside not its own electrons (which will be immobile)..so when u connect it with conductor (like copper) these electrons will flow to pith ball

    I think benjamin Franklin shab ne sahi naam karan hi kiya hai
    jab me 8 me peheli baar charge ke baare padh raha tha toh nucleus + charges ko me hero jaisa samjhta tha {stable , unbreakable atleast in 8th ,upper se positive} or gande log aache log ke baju me ghumte rahete
    Atleast woh time pe peheli baar samaj me bohot aasani hui

    sir u r saying that when we rub a rod with other object electronic flow occurs??? can u explain that why current is not produced??? while current is infact flow of charges (electrons)

      this happens for such a short time and charge involved in very very less. Plus it is not organized movemen of electrons. But you can see current being produced sometimes here too. Example when discharge happens when you have accumulated enough charge on say yourself in winter and when you touch a metal door, the shock that you are getting is current. hope this helps

    sir u said we tend to build up charges because of air being drier in winters as compared to summers. why does it happen in spite of us being grounded always ? why doesnt all the charge flow to the ground in winters?

    Sir one question plz.. charge can't exists without mass except neutron right?? So in metals or conductors charges can move , means charges are present on mass , so mass are moving or 1.6*10^-19C charge is moving im conductor?? Im confused that mass of electron or protons are moving with charges or charges are moving??

    Sir charge move karta kaise krta hai electron or protons ke mass ke saath ya unke mass ko chor deta hai agar chor deta hai to kaise sir?? Becoz charges are found in only mass ryt sir??

    Sir metals like beryllium, magnesium don't give flame test(i.e. their electrons are not even excited by flame ) so how can heat produced by friction make the electrons free?

    when we place charged rod closes to the insulator then that insulator is polarised. it also means that field exist in the space between these two?

    sir humlog jante hai ki electron nucleus ke charo aur ghumta hai to sidhi wire me. electron ka flow kaise hota hai

      Bcs metallic wire m free electrons hote h, jo ki kisi bhi nucleus s bahut jyada strongly nhi jude hote. That means, this electron can be pulled out from electron cloud of one atom with very small energy and transferred to electron cloud of 2nd atom. Because, In metals energy bands are very close, so electron can accept very small quanta of energy.
      Also, electrons ka nucleus ke charo taraf ghumne wal model bahut jyada basic h. Today's physicist say that the electrons don’t revolve, they exist as a cloud of probabilities until something interacts with the cloud and collapses the wavefunction, causing the particle to suddenly appear and the cloud to disappear.

      like charges repel. to ek electron dusre electron ko repel karta hai i.e agge dhakelta hai,to wo dusra electron fir agge teesre elrctron ko repel karta hai yani agge dhakelta hai ise hi current flow kehete hai...hope that helps.

    sir positive charge help krta hai to flow of current but proton to kahi jata hi nahi hai.so how is it possible .

      ruchi solanki we always talk about net charge..for instance, if in an atom you have 5 electrons and 5 protons, and you get an electron out you would be left with NET positive charge..now this positively charged atom is unstable...hence there could be flow of electrons without the involvement of protons!

    Sir, 1 question hai. Sir, glass rod ko silk cloth ke saath rub krne se.... Charge transfer hote hai...par rod se cloth par hi kyu....Cloth se rod pe kyu nahi....

      Yash Patil it's beyond our scope.. there is a series known as triboelectric series ...the materials lying at its top tend to lose electron and tends to get a positive charge and the one lying at the bottom tends to gain electron and becomes negatively charged

    As you say that earth is a very good and big conductor too. So means k jab koi bhi material ko earth krte hain tooh vo neutral ho jata hai. Tooh iska mtlb k kya earth ki neutrality pr koi asar nhi hota only bcz its very huge?? No gain no loss?????

    Sir, you told that glass rod is an insulator, then how charges could be transferred to the Metallic sphere(while performing the experiment)?

      Glass rod is an insulator but when we rub one end of glass rod with silk cloth , it acquires some charge which remains there and doesn't move
      But when brought near metallic sphere , get moves to it

    How much electrons loose from glass rod to silk or one object to another....
    Once you are saying that 10¹⁴ e
    are transferring from a to b ,,just then you are saying only 4-5 electrons are transferring...
    May you plzz clear my doubts..
