Something to be said about smiley's humor and music...he writes most of the lyrics...the days when family watched tv together and are at the dinner table...
i have seen 56 of the 65 charles starrett durango kid movies. and at least 3 others are around dubbed into either spanish or portugese. The 9 i have never seen are RUSTLERS OF THE BADLANDS 1945, FRONTIER GUNLAW 1946, EL DORADO PASS 1948, QUICK ON THE TRIGGER 1948, RENEGADES OF THE SAGE 1949, TEXAS DYNAMO 1950, RAIDERS OF TOMAHAWK CREEK 1950, KID FROM AMARILLO 1951, JUNCTION CITY 1952 in case you can find any of them.
Peter, I have wondered the same thing. His outfit would be easy enough (except for the hat)--- but his horse? Animals need care. Still, I have come to really love these old movies. I now like "Wild" Bill Elliott; Alan "Rocky" Lane; Johnny Mack Brown; and Charles Starrett as much, if not better than John Wayne! And who knew Dub Taylor could sing?
It's amazing Durango (as Steve) goes out on the trail after the bad guy and they find more bad guys that the first one went to warn that Steve had figured out their plans. When the time comes to put a stop to the wrongdoing, Steve goes off by himself to cover one side and the Durango Kid shows up on his white horse. Now how did he know where to have his white horse waiting for him?
This is about the tenth one I’ve seen in the past couple of weeks. It’s the first one I’ve seen where Durango actually shoots and kills bad guys. I’m used to seeing him go through twenty or so bulliets from his six shooter and missing his target every time. I wonder if Columbia decided to tone down the violence or add more.
Thanks for sharing it! I always enjoy watching Old Western Movies though. 👍👌👏
An of course, I'm a subscriber!
Thanks Again Though.

I really get a kick out of their humor!! Thanks!
