Thanks for acknowledging. Well I carried about 15 kg . Trust me I was overweight considering the terrain I was pedaling. Should I kept it light. Nevertheless an experience now , will make it light in my next trip 😀
Just a small correction. The word "La" itself means pass, so for example you can either say it as "Khardung pass" or "khardung la". Same is applicable for other passes as well. "Khardung la pass" is wrong. For ex with respect to khandala we either say it as "Khandala Ghat" or "khandala pass". We don't call it as "khandala Ghat pass"
For any uphill ride your first priority should be gears , you can choose between 21 and 24 combination. I had 24 gear combination when i was riding in Ladakh. I have cosmic tropper with 21 speed and disk brake which costed me 17K , whereas the cycle i used in ladakh was with 24 gear combination and it costed me 28K.
@@TravelWithDheeraj I used Firefox on my trip. I feel you don't have to think too much. The cycle shouldn't be too heavy , also don't spend much on disk brakes because that really add some cost.
Hi buddy, thanks for the informative video. I plan to do the same, could you tell me where did you sell your cycle in Leh? I could not find any cycle shops on internet. Thanks in advance
Hello dear , you go to changspa road . At the the t point you will find a yoga center. Just few metres ahead of it on the right side there are couple of bicycle store. You can try your luck there.

Which will be good option: Sealants or puncture kit or spare tube for puncture issue. Will Sealants be a good options for terrain like Ladakh ( cold region)?
Well on my trip i carried a spare tube. But luckily i didn't had any puncture. Also i use puncture patch to repair punctures. Not sure how much sealant will be helpful because i didn't use it.
Cycle doesn't have to do anything with the journey, only your courage matters. Of course, a better cycle with good saddle, disc brakes, quick release will give you more comfort but if you are ready to bear all these discomforts, bwin my bike is good to go.
I did leh to khardung-la. When I was searching for the information on the internet, in one of the blogs I read that a rickshaw puller did Manali to leh on his rickshaw.
