  • Emerald Square Mall, located in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, opened its doors in 1989 and quickly became a vibrant hub for shopping, entertainment, and community gatherings. Spanning three levels, it was one of the largest malls in the region, featuring major anchor stores such as Macy’s, Sears, and JCPenney, along with a wide variety of specialty shops and eateries.
During the 1990s and early 2000s, the mall thrived as a popular destination for families, teens, and holiday shoppers, especially known for its elaborate seasonal decorations and festive atmosphere. It was more than just a shopping center; it was a social hotspot, a place where memories were made, from weekend hangouts to holiday traditions.
However, like many malls across America, Emerald Square faced challenges with the rise of online shopping and changing consumer habits. Anchor stores began to close, foot traffic dwindled, and once-busy corridors grew quieter. Today, the mall struggles to recapture its former glory, standing as a poignant reminder of a bygone era in retail.
For many, though, Emerald Square Mall remains a place of nostalgia, evoking memories of its bustling past and the role it played in their lives.

In 2,000 years, nobody will remember that Emerald Square Mall ever existed. "For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind" (Isaiah 65:17).
